It is actually fucked that they’re producing that sort of graphic when City absolutely have not yet won the league. We are literally top of the table still lmao.
I know this race feels done, but fuck me, still.

Agreed. Thesportsman.com has lost all credibility here.
It was once one of my most trusted and respected outlets, but no more!
Yeah I know lol, would be quite nice to revisit it having somehow won the league this year
The shame was how many times we featured as well tbh, not such a surprise having lived it, but seeing it is like fuuuuuck
This graphic hurts me to my core. I can’t accept anything other than this being the biggest bottlejob in Premier League history.
Yes, they have a generational talent in Haaland, but we should’ve been 11 points clear before the City game. Lose that and we should still be 8 points clear.
Something is very wrong at this club when it comes to our mentality. The fact that we appear 4 times in that list and our rivals only once each, shows just how weak willed we are.
Found this graphic to put things into more perspective too:
Genuine question, what is wrong with our club? Under no circumstances should this league have been lost. We’ve been top since fucking gameweek 3, and we threw it away :cry
I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get over it. This is worse than losing the final of the Champion’s League on my birthday in 2006…
Our fans who are so quick to turn on the lads and label them bottle jobs for performing above their level for majority of the season…
Its been a very strange season, to say the least.
At the beginning of it, we were hoping for a Top 4. But come the end of the season, some of us are a bit disappointed. Which speaks volumes of how we’ll we’ve done. Its been one of those seasons where satisfaction as well as disappointment are both justified.
Hope we come back stronger next season, and I think we will.
I think all of us are disappointed, I expect the players and Arteta and the club as a whole are disappointed. Being disappointed doesn’t however mean turning on the Players/Arteta/Edu/Kroenke’s.
Talk of us being being 8 points clear after losing at City is also not entirely accurate, City would still have 2 games in hand meaning in reality if/when they likely won those games, there would be 2 points in it. If we think they are losing those 2 games, then they are likely bottling it and can easily lose 1 more (I doubt they will)
So I personally think there is a middle road, it doesn’t have to be only ecstasy at winning the league or doom & gloom at coming 2nd. Depending how the next 5 games go, but finishing on 85-88 points will represent our highest points tally since the Invincible season, which is nothing to be sniffed at…
I want us to aim for 90 points and make them work to win it.
Me too and I am sure Arteta and the players do too.
But in context, we have only once ever hit 90 points and finishing on 88 points, would make it our second highest points total for a season.
I can fully seeing City drop points in the run in, hopefully starting with Fulham on Sunday!
I can’t even decide if I want Fulham to get a result anymore lol, the false hope will kill me all over again. But at the same time any fucking glimmer of a chance of us still winning this then give it me all day.
Supporting our fellow London clubs for the next week barring the chavs on Tuesday.
The most impressive thing about Arsenal this season is that we’ve improved so much in the last 12-18 months.
8th, 8th, 5th, 2nd (most likely)
What’s even more surprising is that we’ve done it without a single world class player; whilst City have about 4 in their first team. We do have a few potential WC players though and I think we should build our team around these guys:
The rest are quite a ways behind them imho, could potentially add Ben White & Trossard to this list in the future too, they’re both very good but likely won’t reach WC status
The squad, is what I hope we improve over the summer… but I’m not sure if we will
Can I just say, I cannot wait for us to play CL football again
Only London club in the CL, and may very well be the only London club in Europe next season.
wow, Brighton are only 2pts behind tottenham with 3 games in hand… your post actually made me feel a tiny bit better about football now
Without the title it rings a bit empty but we’re two wins away from the club’s third highest point total of the PL era.
I agree it’s a shame we blew it with a few games to go but Man City are the best team in Europe.
We haven’t finished top four since Wenger was here, so before the season I’m sure most of us would have taken runners up place ahead of both Man U and Liverpool, with spurs and Chelsea mid table.
It isn’t. At the end of the day City are the better team plus all the other points of our improvement are all true. But knowing how we have given two 2-0 leads away that part makes it frustrating. Arsenal had it.
Yups, if we didn’t cock those games up. I could accept the Liverpool, City & upcoming Newcastle results. But West Ham and Southampon!? That’s shocking.
Based on what we’ve seen this season, this team should’ve won the league and should’ve gotten a minimum of 95 points. If by some stroke of luck we end up winning the league this year (we won’t), it’s more impressive than the Invincible season imho, simply cause of the personnel we’re up against, the thinness of the squad. The fact we haven’t been competitive for donkey years etc…
Losing Saliba and Tomiyasu for the season within ten minutes of each other is much bigger than people give it credit for.
