My uber driver was waiting outside my flat in Fulham this morning at 5am and was like “your flights cancelled bro” and I was like how the fuck do you know anything about my flight haha
Well, guess my work trip to Australia is cancelled. The only other way to make it happen was Eurostar to Amsterdam today, overnight there and then fly out from schiphol tomorrow.
I was not looking forward to 13 hours to Singapore, 1 hour layover, and then 8 hours to Brisbane at all for this work trip but I had managed to finagle 2 whole days to myself in Brisbane and about 3 days in Sydney which I have to say I was actually really looking forward too.
Kind of relieved, kind of gutted.
Work has now asked me to go to Ukraine in April for an unrelated trip, so a bit of a morning lol

I saw an interesting tweet about Patrick Kluiverts family so i looked him up on wiki and found this
On 9 September 1995, Kluivert, then 19 years old and still playing for Ajax, was the driver in a car accident in Amsterdam, where a 56-year-old man was killed and a passenger was seriously injured in a collision. Kluivert collided with a Ford Orion saloon while driving an uninsured BMW M3 sports car he had borrowed from a friend at a speed of approximately 104 km/h (64 mph) while in a 50 km/h (31 mph) residential zone. Though he denied he was guilty for causing death by dangerous driving, he was found guilty in court and sentenced to 240 hours of community service
