I’ve always found it a bit strange that anyone would really care how much designer labels charge for their clothing. Ultimately, if it’s too expensive for you or not to your taste - you just don’t buy it.
Has anyone seen that classic football kits site? It’s the Gucci of football lol. An Adebayor shirt from 10 years ago is £200 on there…
I wouldn’t say I care as such but I definitely think it’s ridiculous for a jumper to cost 800 quid. That said I wouldn’t even necessarily know that was the cost given I would just never go somewhere they sell that shit.
It’s the culture of buying for the sake of it that’s the problem, not the price tag.
Depends on the item in question. There are some which I would prefer to pay more for, because the difference in quality makes it worth it.
Anyone who has a fitted suit knows what I’m talking about.
The stupid thing is, that they only wear them a couple of times anyway because they can’t bear to be seen more than once, with the same item of clothing.
What do they do with all the stuff they buy when they’ve finished with it?
Ebay perhaps.
I bought a pair of shoes recently off Ebay that were described as used but originally were bought for £140.
I paid £16 for them and when they arrived, I opened the package and they looked like they had never been worn.
Either some one had bought them and they were the wrong size, or they just didn’t like them.
I’ve done the same thing with other stuff I’ve got off Ebay as well.
I got a Specialized bike that was £550 new and I got for £240 and it looked like it had never been ridden.
It’s great.
Just let the rich squander their money on a whim, on things they don’t need, and then sell them on to people like me, who will use it.
We also don’t see the extent to which these guys are rich.
For them 1000$ is akin to what 10$ is for us so it doesn’t bother them as much.
I am sure someone born in poverty will value a penny a lot more than we normies do.
Yup. The reality is these kind of items are targeted at people who’ll find £800 a drop in the ocean compared to the regular working man.
My brother directs music videos for a living and some of the artists turn up to shoots with £40,000 watches and a t shirt and jeans worth over £2,000 alone… it’s not a lot of money for those guys and it upholds the image they need to portray in order to maintain their success.
Right now - I couldn’t dream of spending that kind of money on clothes but I couldn’t care less about people that do.
I do love a good pair of jeans though
for me it’s just that I find it intriguing to know how the rich live, obviously they can spend their money on what they want and try to keep up with the latest fashions and all that kind of nonsense, I just don’t get it really and if I was rich like that I wouldn’t either, as others have said wearing good quality clothes that look good and feel good is important but just not at those prices.
@JakeyBoy my primark example wasn’t the best even though they do some comfortable decent looking t shirts for pretty cheap
This is such a fundamental point. The gap in wealth is fricking ridiculous.
You don’t even need to look at it on a macro scale.
Sorry to turn this a bit, but why doesn’t that cunt Kroenke flash the cash on us? I don’t doubt he’s got a selection of 30k quid watches, etc. It’d be a more useful spend for all concerned.
The supporters of all the clubs he owns is where he gets the money to buy his watches and ranches?
He is not a giver, he’s a taker.
Or parasite, as I prefer to call him.
Just went to the darts at the o2 with a few mates from work today. Was sceptical at first as I don’t usually have any interest in it but if you’re looking for somewhere to get shitfaced and with a friendly crowd - do it. You won’t be disappointed.
RvP was there today though to put a slight shitter on it
The darts look a great night out haha.
I’m not surprised. Barney put Darts on the maps here in the Netherlands too. Especially for people from 25-35 like RvP.
I can’t remember if it was on here or not but apparently Rafael van der Vart is now a professional Darts player. He’s in the shitty league but still.
Just come across this. While I don’t think I have a particularly Essex-y accent, I was born there so am claiming this victory. Along with the “Pisceans make the best girlfriends” research, I’m really not giving anyone else a chance
No surprise to see Birmingham last, that accent sucks (apologies to any Brummies here). Wolverhampton is far down too you’ll be pleased to see @DavidHillier
Southern accents sound great on a girl. As do Scottish and Irish. All others, nah.
When did this become a thing? We need some proof missy :hipster:
Anyone notice in that list, the Queen’s accent comes in 4th place
