I think it’s important to say I have a lot of time for your opinions despite your Reform sympathies, I don’t think people who want something other than our useless political mainstream are the devil.
But surely you can’t believe that Reform have anything good for patients in mind when it comes to the NHS?

The 2020s will be known as the enshitification era. Everything is more expensive, every app on your phone is tracking you and providing your personal data for money, opportunities for people are fewer and customers are being fobbed off with low-quality services.
The NHS has followed this enshitification, in the last three years that my anxiety has become overwhelming, I’ve seen an actual, qualified GP once. All of my other appointments have been with unqualified “nurses”. If I ask for an appointment to see my GP, it’s 6-8 weeks away.
I booked an urgent appointment because I didn’t know whether something was a real problem or just another symptom of my Central Sensitivity Syndrome. The moment I mentioned the long-term issue the “nurse” exploded at me accusing me of cheating the same day appointment system to get seen with something that wasn’t urgent. I should have complained.
Sometimes I hate being in my 50s but mostly I’m grateful that I grew up in days when things were more straightforward, where you didn’t have to have an app for everything, where you didn’t have to remember loads of passwords, where life felt real. I’ll be dead in 20-30 years, I can’t even imagine how shit everyday life will be by then.
The NHS is all about “value” now, not improving peoples’ lives. Just like everything else.

I’ve just sent a lengthy letter to Essex County Council over their protocol of making people with incurable, life-long, invisible conditions face repeated assessments for a Blue Badge.
They start their letter pointing out that I need an assessment due to guidance provided by the Department for Transport. Ah yes, the DfT, the experts in neurological disorders.
Anyway, having pointed out how stupid this all is, I’ve given them 10 numbered questions to answer (Life Hack; PR departments hate this because it’s easier for you to point to the questions they’ve ignored).
Enshitification also includes the assumption that you’re lying until you can prove otherwise. Sort of the complete opposite of how law works.
My work here is done for the day, time to repair to the sunshine in the garden.

I’d like to invite all those doctors on strike today to go fuck themselves.
No doubt they’ll bleat about patient safety as one of their demands but if the money suddenly turns up that will quickly disappear as a concern.

Being a Dr is not like being a teacher or train guard. It deserves higher pay
