That was more a rant by me in that we seem to care more about identity rather than experience and qualifications these days.

Nhs England is a pure higher management bureaucracy and not at all the NHS which is just a healthcare system.
NHS England is in charge of workforce planning - they have somehow made it that we have a staffing crisis but also unemployed doctors and nurses.
Unbelievable feat.
Didn’t exist until Coalition gov created them probably to create more fall guys for their nonsense.

Totally the right move. This is basic common sense deregulation.
The organisation was not fit for purpose. Its good to see core functions of the state being streamlined and falling back to democratic parliamentary oversight.

Yep, having worked for NHSE, it is culturally one of the worst organisations to work for. What Keir Starmer has said about duplication of roles stands true.
Ideally, someone working for the NHS (as we know it) should know what their counterparts in NHSE are doing. This often isn’t the case. Even the simplest way of emailing them becomes burdensome.
One of the most cut-throat organisations out there (without being organised). May its death be long and painful.

A brown lady doctor in Birmingham killed herself.
She was bullied at University hospitals Birmingham trust, and piled on, overworked.
Family tried to find out what happened. Shut out as NHS England helped in their specialty - coverups.
Navina Evans, head honcho of NHS England workforce training and education, also based in Birmingham, sent this to a Doctor advocate of minority doctors.
