The Labour Party

Labour Friends of Israel is basically at war with Corbyn and winning. Not surprising when virtually everyone bar the Socialists are Friends of Israel. All parties and probably most in the media too.

I don’t think it’s really sticking in the general public, but in that political bubble the pressure must be huge. Even real JC stalwarts are caving in. Owen Jones typically is falling to pieces, which is his usual position when something gets tough. Personally, I thought it was a mistake to appease any of this.

The battle is really to force out the Blairites, before they succeed, and try and win an election. Once, if that is done, people like Williamson can be reinstated; it’ll be easier once in power, the media eventually fall in line a lot more with whoever governs. It’s horrible to always be fighting the fucking centrist lot, but since day one they have cheated, manoeuvred, lied, been utter cunts.

Labour needs to maintain its centre-left core, i really don’t think Corbyn supporters should see it as some sort of war. Yes Blair et al are rather unpleasant but they hardly represent the centre left.

If Labour take that turn they’ll be obliterated

I find disgusting to use racism and antisemitism to kick a leader out.

The funny thing is that the people who hate Corbyn inside the Labour Party are the ones who likes a war criminal.

Anything that’s constantly in the media will always stick with the public, and there’s clearly an agenda for it to be consistently covered. I’ve heard it mentioned by several people in passing.

Also I’m pretty sure your average person doesn’t really understand the party. All they see is MPs condemning it, and why would they criticise their own party if it wasn’t a big problem that needed a moral stand?

Thing is, you can be against Israel and left wing without being a clown like Williamson. The SNP do it all the time, and they managed to mug off Jim Murphy and the ilk for the friends of Israel stuff pretty nicely without making tits of themselves.

The Labour party gives off an image that it’s full of incompetents and it does very little to assuage anyone that it isn’t.

They have very good policies that makes sense, and if there was an election, they’d still get many voted based on those.

But it’s just chock full to the brim with moronic MPs, on the left and right of the party.

Case in point:

I truly hope they do manage to kick out the Blairites. (How have yous still not got John Mann out ffs??) But tbh the party could do with breaking up and reforming.

If only FPTP wasn’t still in play, this would be so much easier.

Is this really about Israel or is it about genuine concerns that Labour has a problem with Jewish voters. Those are two completely different things.

FWIW I agree with @DavidHillier. I don’t know that Corbyn dislikes Jewish people, he certainly found some kindred spirits among the JEWDAS folks who are kind of assholes on Twitter but for the most part stand for the idea that Israel as a political entity is
verging on a failed state* and has little, if anything, to do with Judaism as a religion.

But after the Chakrabarti Inquiry turned out to be a joke I think Labour should have taken stronger steps. Instead this weird culture of people being attacked, apologizing and then Jewish voters who raised legitimate concerns being told that it’s not a big deal, just kind of rolled on.

*I don’t want to derail the thread with this but it’s worth reading up on the absolutely diabolical deal Bibi has made with the hard right in order to boost his coalition ahead of elections. It’s disgusting. Everyone in Jewish progressive or lefty spaces knows that the Kahanists are racists and awful, and now they’re probably going to control some really powerful government positions.

Al-Jazeera did a good piece on that lot. It’s called “The Lobby”.

You know it’s bad when even AIPAC and the ADL are condemning it.

What’s this to do with Jewish voters? Jewish voters, more the merrier.

This is the standard I’ve come to expect, but even so it’s kind of hard to get my head around the fact that these are the words that she has chosen.

I don’t see anything in the Labour party that even compares to that. I’m trying to imagine the furore if someone from Labour had described Jews as “animals”.

Close enough for me to ask @Luca_from_Italy to appoint me as OA’s Chief Westminster Corresponent

Implying Corbyn is a Nazi. The massive crush is diminishing day by day (I’m sure she’ll be devastated)

Owen Jones really has gone full bellend.

What? Wasn’t he a Corbyn supporter?

Owen in that tweet is reacted to an incident where British National Party (Rightwing political Party)Leader, Nick Griffen was pelted with an egg in past incident.

Rachel Riley is implying Corbyn deserved to be pelted because of he is perceived by some to be antisemitic and therefore a Nazi…

Rachel Riley makes a bit more sense.

Fucking moron

Everyone knew the Tories would plummet tonight, but fucking hell what is happening to Labour? The worse PM in history and a split government and they are just a big a laughing stock

What were you expecting Labour to do in the most meaningless European elections? I thought it would be worse tbh.
