I use the special requests feature all the time when I book a hotel abroad. It’s always my anniversary if I’m going abroad with a female or my honeymoon.
Absolutely no way I’m not securing some kind of special treatment lol

It’s shit like that - this was in Bali. I’ve got a video of another hotel where they filled a bathtub and put rose petals in it and then did the swans with the towels on the bed and have us two cakes. But I don’t know how to upload videos that exceed the maximum limit
Basically it’s free sprucing up of your hotel room which inevitably impresses the beanie you’re with. If it’s your long term partner then it earns you brownie points and if it isn’t your long term partner then it still earns you brownie points and costs you 0 lol

They clean your room daily so it’s gone in a day but whilst it’s there it’s messy as shit lol. The Moroccan in me does not allow me to go anywhere without trying to secure some kind of perk or discount
I went to a hotel in Dubai and said it was my partners birthday (she wasn’t my partner and it wasn’t her birthday) and even after scanning both our passports they didn’t pay any attention to her date of birth and an hour later they knocked on the door with a big red velvet cake and a happy birthday topper on it lol
in other words use the damn special requests feature for free shit
