Just wondering if it would have been good to play them early on in the season.
Nuno’s Spurs beat them last season as well. City are certainly most vulnerable early on.
I do remember we played them on Emery’s first official game though at the Emirates and we got slapped.

Yeah. I remember after the Madrid game last season everyone counted them out. Doom and gloom, then they slapped Newcastle and Liverpool were the ones that crumbled instead.
Shows you how reactionary we are today. Not to act like I don’t it myself though.
I remember relegation battle shouts last season when we lost 3 straight games. Our window was ridiculed as a total waste of money.

Man City vs Liverpool is never a friendly. I think Saturday was much more than a glorified friendly. Liverpool look far more fit and ready and have a slight psychological edge.
City should still win the league but Saturday has some importance.

I don’t think so. Liverpool game is based on a strong running game to City’s more technical approach.
No surprise Liverpool a bit more on it for me.
Check the first goal. TAA given a lot more room than he would in a League game.

Last year tbh I felt Liverpool were never really in the title picture beyond Christmas. I know it ended up close but City had that mad run which made them unassailable and even with a couple of bad chokes on their end, felt they would always have enough in the tank.
This year I can see Liverpool pipping them by a similar margin, doubt either will win the title by more than 3 points.
Just got a feeling it’ll be City doing more of the chasing this year and Haaland may take a while to settle.
