I don’t want every single competition in every single sport, but has anyone ever dominated in the same way Nadal dominates the French Open?

Probably not tbh, Rafa’s record at the French open is absolutely wild.

As for this year I’m very much looking forward to seeing if Thiem and or Djokovic beat him in the SF or F should it pan out that way.

Phil Taylor is the only other one that comes to mind.

Oooh yeah. But I still don’t think of darts as a proper sport.

Jannick Sinner is a quality talent.

Italy are in good hands with him and Musetti

Massive effort by Schwartzman, looks like he’s just about to take out Thiem.

Nadal vs Djokovic tonight, hopefully it’s a beauty.

Nadal will win in straight sets, taking him to 20 grand slams.

Yeah that would knot him with Federer, but I’d still rate Federer higher marginally at this point given 12 or 13 of Nadal’s would be at one event.

They have both won all 4 though. For me, the eye test would give it to Federer. I just prefer the way he plays. It seems so effortless. But Nadal has a good case, being so dominant on one surface is bloody impressive. Not many sportsmen can claim a record like Nadal has.

When Nadal finishes on more slams then he’s the GOAT above Federer and at the moment it’s when not if.

Djokovic also has a shot but getting DQ’d at the US Open may prove costly, I don’t think style of play should come into it when accessing who is the best tbh

Also, Djokovic being a dickhead means he’ll never have a shot at being the GOAT

Hahaha like Federer isn’t a dick at times, it’s fantasy to think he’s always Mr Nice Guy

Same with Rafa

Oh I know. I’m not a Federer fan girl or anything. That was firmly reserved for A Rod. But Federer never crossed the line as much as Djokovic has. Djokovic’s reputation is basically in tatters. He could win 100 grand slams and some people will still refuse to acknowledge him as the best.

Federer will always be the best on the eye test.

Yeah they’re very valid points.

This is probably the first tennis match I’ve watched since Wimbledon last year. It definitely makes it a bit bearable to watch with at least some fans in, wouldn’t do it justice if these two had to play final behind closed doors.

Hoping for a Rafa win but wouldn’t surprise me if Djokovic was the first to beat him at Rolland Garros in about 16 years or however long it is!

Embarrassing start to this match from Djokovic, has not shown up mentally.

No excuse to get bagled in the first set in a grand slam final barring injury for a player of his caliber.

Yeah Rafa is well on top here. Not that Djokokvic has played bad per se, but in a GS final against the only player on the tour it’s not expected.
