Tennis

I was more referring to how so many of them start losing their shit the minute someone reflects on favouring Nadal or Federer. But very conceited of you to make it all about how much of a decent human being you are for supporting Djokovic :joy:

Fucking hell it’s getting more cringe in here than the Andrew Tate defence league.

You got all that from this?

Every single time when Novak wins the slam, they miss those 2 old guys lol

By “all that” are you referring to a single sentence in the post you’ve replied to? Its not exactly like I wrote a thesis based on one tweet lol.

That sentence was about more than just the tweet you posted, it’s about my general impression of Djokovic fans when people show a preference or even fondness for Fed/Nadal, and how sensitive they can be.

I did not p[osted that tweet because of that sentence, but to express my opinion that todays top tennis is better than that shown in that video, yet no one seems to care here about tennis itself but about sensitivity of the fans and likeability of players.

So my bed, sorry…

This thread has never been about actual Tennis tbf

I know why you posted it, you’ve already told me, the issue here seems to be that you think I should be posting in this thread on your terms. You talk about how tennis was slower back in the day if you like, and I’ll talk about what I like.

We exchanged posts yesterday, and you decided to reply to me again this morning, to a post I made that was not directed at you. That was your choice. Maybe don’t continue to engage me about my my opinion of Djokovic fans if you think it’s a distraction from what this thread should be about?

BTW @JakeyBoy I have no issue with people preferring Federer or Nadal, who people like better or what style they like is just personal preference everyone is entitled to taste.

The results are factual though and they don’t take into account people’s feelings or preferences.

That’s absolutely fair enough. I see it similarly to my views on my favourite footballers. I cant argue against C.Ronaldo being the greatest (well, just behind Messi, but you know), but I have a far stronger preference for Ronaldinho, or Bergkamp, cos I enjoyed watching them and enjoyed the way they played the game more than someone like Ronaldo, who clearly has them both on toast stats and honours wise.

Impressive week for Sinner, beats Alcaraz and Medvedev to take the title in Beijing and move up to a career high ranking of No 4.

The best win of his career to beat Alcaraz (who he has a good record against) but most importantly Medvedev who had six straight defeats against

To beat both wihtout dropping a set is very impressive, he is someone who can match Alcaraz for firepower and even unsettle him. He just needs to become a bit more well rounded with regard to net play and develop a good slice but his serve has improved quite a bit since last year.

He looks like the one who may have next up because the likes of AA, Shapavalov aren’t up to it at all.

Likeable player.

WTF is going on with Rune ?

Maybe he’s just not all that good, well, at this point anyway

There are quite a few deficiencies in his game and his body is quite weak as well

An 8th year end world no 1 is in Djokovic’s hands despite not even bothering to play/ being discriminated against in regards to 5 of the 9 masters 1000 tournaments.

Not that he needs an 8th year end no 1 as 7 times is already an outright record, but would be pretty hilarious if he ends no 1 at 36 years of age playing a skeleton schedule.

Another Masters 1000 for the GOAT

97 major ATP titles and counting and 40 Masters now in total, another Monte Carlo and he’ll have won all of them at least three times

Really tough week for him with 3 seperate 3 setters in a row, Rune and Rublev both had chances.

Novak just finds a way though, the hatred from the Bercy crowd fuelled his fire.

1 win at the end of season tournament in Turin and it’s an 8th record extending season no 1 and also 400 weeks at the no 1 ranking.

24 slams
40 masters
70 big titles

Some refuse to admit his the goat = priceless.

Holger Rune on Novak Djokovic:

“It is funny because it is always Roger Federer and Rafa Nadal who are named as the good guys, but when it comes to future generations, I think Novak Djokovic gives the most.”

Also came back in the match against Griekspoor who had two break points to serve for the match, if he broke Djokovic there I think he wins the match.

Djokovic managed to save them and from there take the set and ultimately the match, his mental strength is just out of this world as per.
