I don’t want Jesus crossing anyone
He’s right about that last line… kind of like a burrowing parasite.
Yeah Jesus is the one who usually gets crossed
Haha Italian clubs man!
We don’t care, Eddie is better anyway.
Was obviously joking, ok.
The idea of creating a funny skit using Mourinho gifs was a doomed venture, to begin with…
My humour is too complex for mere mortals to comprehend. Not surprised.
I just don’t know if Gabriel Jesus and Tammy Abraham are Top 4 PL strikers. It is borderline. The problem in assessing many strikers though is they go in and out of form, and that’s a bit of a concern I have with these two, in that I’m not sure how good they are in keeping runs of bad form as short as possible.
This might be the level we have to settle for though, although I still think Tammy is way too nice as a personality to get to absolute top level, just not sure about the ‘edge’. Good thing perhaps is wages can be kept relatively under control, which makes it easier to cut loose down the line if required.
Well, they both played for Top 4 sides before, and they still haven’t entered their prime years.
I’ll talk about Tammy specifically as it’s his thread, but from our reported shortlist for strikers, Tammy has a bit of everything which also makes him a very attractive asset and canvas to build on for Arteta.
Young, English, tall, quick, solid passer, finisher and carrier of the ball, hard worker and his mentality is great too.
You don’t see many players take a gamble like he did by going to Serie A and doing relatively well under a very strict manager like Mourinho.
If I’m Arteta, I am very intrigued to work with Tammy. I think he knew his potential before but the Roma loan put a stamp on it.
I’ll let you elaborate, but I should add one more thing in here. I’m a bit hesitant now to get happy about young players and potential especially for this position (CF) because it feels like a trap of “project” again, and if we are paying 50m it just doesn’t sit that great with me. Next season we need to perform and get into Top 4, not just for Arteta’s sake himself, but I also think beyond next season if we don’t make the next step up there is risk of our best young talent getting itchy feet.
With both players though, I am not hard no, but have made no secret that Osimhen would be my preferred, now knowing the chances are diminished because we didn’t qualify for CL.
I think they’re both at a stage in their career to help right away. But, they can also improve to go to that next level, which is to challenge for the PL/CL.
17 goals in 37 Serie A matches is not bad, and for a debut season, I did before have the impression that ECL numbers were padding his overall a bit, but his Serie A numbers alone look more than passable. Price tag looks like it is going to be 55-60m GBP, but again it is down to the Kroenke’s to deliver according to Josh’s own words.
Fucking hell.
Scored the equaliser and still ripped to shreds by his own manager, classic mourinho.
Irony.
What do we think about this guy as an option this summer?
