The same way Mourinho thinks Abraham is the best striker in the world

These comps are deceiving, that’s all I’ll say.

Definitely better than Lukaku & Havertz this season.
We missed a trick here

So is Nketiah. :grinning:

Reports claim that the Gunners are looking to sign two new strikers in the summer and there was a claim at the end of April that Arsenal are ready to offer a £50m package to lure Abraham back to the Premier League .

And now Mourinho has hinted that he won’t stand in Abraham’s way if he wants to leave for Arsenal or any other Premier League club this summer.

Asked about the ongoing speculation around Abraham, Mourinho said: “I don’t think it’s an easy decision for a young, local player to leave his club, to leave his house, his city, his country, to leave the Premier League – which of course is a competition that, when a player is in it, it’s hard to leave.

“He made that option and I think he made it by trust in me, and I think in this moment, if he wants to go back to England – I don’t think he wants now – but if he wants to go back to England he just needs to click his fingers.”

Mourinho added: “I’m so happy for him, back to the national team, loved in Rome. I don’t want to say he’s proven everybody wrong, because I think everyone knows that he’s a good player.

“And I think also with [Chris] Smalling and [Fikayo] Tomori showing the English boys that there is life outside the Premier League and in Italy there is a life that makes them even better players than they are.

Nah, allow Tampax Ambraham

Don’t know how you really work Jesus and Abraham in the same team tbh.

How did the bible do it

Jesus can play on the right. He did it for most of his matches for City this season

You want Jesus to cross to Abraham?

Probably Jesus left and Tammy up front.

Anyway, it’s not happening this summer. I think Tammy won’t push for a move just yet. If they win the ECL they’ll finish the season on a high and he’ll probably be motivated to give it another season before looking elsewhere. Especially with the World Cup coming up.
We’ll have to really test Roma’s resolve with a hefty bid. If reports and Mourinho’s pressers are to be taken into account, we should expect a big summer from Roma.

Why would we put the better player out wide?

This Abraham stuff needs to take a hike

That’s why I don’t think we’ll go for him.
I personally think both our forwards will be somewhat versatile so that we can interchange the personnel in our front 3 easily.

If we get Jesus and then another target man like Nunez, Tammy or DCL, it then forces you to change your tactics depending who plays up top.

To get the best out of Jesus you need a lot of technical players coming off him.
It’ll fall down if we pigeon hole him. He’s not a great individual but a very good link player.

Yep.

I think in a season that Man City have been crying out for a striker, Gabriel Jesus is one of their problems, not solutions.

Reckon there are not many pure strikers that start for City’s Pep currently though.
He would much rather use multiple playmakers and inside forwards rather than a classic striker of sorts.

Guys like Haaland, Ronaldo are the exception to the rule. Kane was the most attractive one as his all-around game is top.

I think with Abraham, you have to tinker with the team a bit to play to his strengths.

With Jesus, I think you slot in and go particularly with his education under Pep. He does everything well albeit not elite in any specific category.

But ofc, there is a reason why City wanted Kane last summer and are signing Haaland this summer. Jesus is quality but not in the world class bracket. Pep knows this better than anybody, he’s had the guy at City for years now.

He’s more than good enough for us, and upgrades us substantially but guys like Jesus and Abraham are in that one tier below the elites.
