It’s been tough past two years for Tomi. Losing his mother, whilst adapting to a whole new country and then going through further mental hardships with these injuries.
The physical aspect he will recover from, but let’s hope he recovers mentally too.
It’s such a shame as he is such a solid & handy player to have.
That City win last season wouldn’t have happened without his run or when Arteta played him on left to neutralise Salah.
Yeah, that would be great optics for the club, wouldn’t it?
If we are paying him either way, just keep him here. He probably isn’t lgoing to be a reliable squad member ever again but we look like cunts if we terminate his deal now.
It’s not Tomi’s fault he is injured…when fit, he has been a really good squad player. Obviously need to consider his long term future at the club, but terminating his contract isn’t and shouldn’t be on the table.
I doubt its even a legally viable option but tha won’t stop arseholes talking about it for the next 18 months and making out like the club is somehow in the wrong.
I can’t see how it would be legal…fans go on about player loyalty and yet some want to terminate a player contract for being injured…unless of course you’re Trump, Farage, or Truss, or a supporter of the aforementioned, in which case you are ‘Woke’ and part of the ‘Deep State’…
I think the way Arsenal dealt with players, Diaby and Wilshere for example, during their long injury hiatuses bought allot of good will among football pros.
Arsenal I think is viewed as a healthier environment for players than say a Chelsea or United.
I’m sure club culture is a major selling point to football pros.
