Super Mik Arteta

Out of curiosity did you watch the City game at United ? I can’t really recall City giving up any long periods of territory in that one, was just just complete control and domination and one of the easiest 2-0s you’re likely to see.

But yes we aren’t on the same wave length, it was always likely we’d give up up because we’re a 5th to 8th placed club playing away from home.

Gosh, that was in early November? I probably did but can’t remember much about it now.
I used the Villa - City example as it was on Wednesday. Even if it’s brief though it happens. Especially with a team as young as ours that had a bit of a humbling not too ago at Anfield.

We had worse results after 14 games, 12/13 and 14/15 I’m sure we had substantially less points than 28 after 14 games.

That was after matchday 16 in 12/13, couldn’t find what it was 2 games earlier.

West Brom above us, sad times

Besides the point of the tweet, but if Arteta’s team scores 72 league goals and only allows 37 like we did in 12/13 I’ll be thrilled.

Yeah I was just pointing out that they’re cherry picking a bit with the tweet, kind of trying to make it sound like 28 points was our worst ever after 14 games under Wenger.

I do agree I’d be delighted if we got 72 goals though .

I don’t think he was because he specifically said at that point ppl were flying banners and protesting…Wenger was better plus he had the added disadvantage of a dumb ass toxic fan base to contend with. Arteta is just shitting himself along with nobody batting an eye. When Wenger left the fans I guess allowed their standards to go too.

I agree with a lot of that about the standards and Wenger being better than Arteta etc.

Come on now.

He doesn’t really seem to be under much pressure though does he ?

In the context of the conversation we are talking about atmosphere at the stadium.

We’ve won most of the games in the Emirates since fans were back and our away support always supported the team. Make no mistake, if we have a run like we had up to this time last year it would get very toxic very quickly.

Yeah that’s all very valid.

I do think unless we collapse and finish outside the top 7 or 8 though his job is under no threat from the people that make the decisions.

If it takes finishing outside of the top 7 or 8 for him to be under pressure than we’re doomed. We’ve got a squad that has all the pieces to at least challenge for a top 4 place and we’ll likely finish the year between 6-8 with no managerial change in sight

Arteta isn’t going anywhere until 2023 at least.

Don’t feel like he’s got them playing better than a 7th to 9th position

If that carries on surely he’ll get booted this Summer. Really starting to feel very disappointed that this season shows no progress and is a big step back on the last 24 games of last season even with a big Summer spend.

Am rapidly moving back to a strong Arteta out feeling

Nailed it mate, this season has been a lot worse than the post Christmas form last season which proved to be a false dawn sadly.

We might be clinging onto 5th but all our metrics suggest around 10th.

Sad thing is that the club are filled with con men. Arteta being one of them. Arsene decided to go heavy youth when he developed the English core but never used it as an excuse, nor would it have been allowed by the fans to be an excuse.

Now that Arteta is doing has a young team it’s an excuse to finish mid table and play relatively shit football, and ppl actually swallow it hook line and sinker :joy::joy:
