Interesting to note in at this matchweek last season we were 15th with a GD of -6. Conceded 2 more goals but scored 5 more compared to that. Make of it what you will.

It will come. Individually there is quality, although we do need a replacement for Mari/Holding for CB depth, which could be Saliba next season.
Very solid EL level back line from what i’ve seen

Very concerning given we only conceded 39 league goals last season and 48 before that. A lot of money was spent to assemble this backline.

On pace for 62-63 points now. Negative GD after 14. But we’re almost top 4!!!

It’s a really low bar for 4th, the top 3 will be at least 15 points clear of 4th.
Even with it being a low bar and no European football to contend with I still don’t think we’ll get 4th, tonight’s game is just another example why.
I see the cocky people reducing comfortable wins have gone into hiding.
Also interesting to note that while it seems like our defense is better this year, we are currently tied for 9th in terms of goals against.
Yeah 62-63 points is a fair reflection of us as a side.

If we can consistently get three points each time we face a middle or lower half table team we will be in with a shout. United will still drop points in similar matches. That said, my aim at the beginning of the season was Top 6, and I am not moving goalposts on that. Top 4 would make me believe in Arteta though. Right now I’m ambivalent, still seeing him as more of a steward than anything else.
You should be moving the goalposts, it’s a relatively low bar for 4th.
We’ve just lost to United though, and let’s face it they’ve been in CL for a few seasons and our squad has been behind theirs.

Yeah that is my take too. If we get 65-68 points and happen to luck into top 4, I dunno. That is still pretty meh. People crush Arsene for last few years but it wasn’t until 2017-2018 before we slipped below 70 points, his last year.

Yeah I had been accused of being impatient with Wenger and Emery so I thought I’d try my best at patience here, but 2 years in I still have no confidence in this side and the progression it’s making.
