With Utd and Spurs total crap, we really could be 4th if we can get into the 70’s this season and that is not a difficult shout for this squad. Reality is, we actually have a decent squad now with depth… yeah, we got issues and aren’t in same bracket as the top 3, but we are on par or better squad-wise than everyone else I think (tbf I probably wouldn’t have said that at start of season, but the new signings have really shown their worth).
No chance of another lockdown in England Aussie
Now that you’ve single handedly mutated coronavirus into something weaker than a weak as piss Mexican beer we’re impervious to it now.
So expect a crowd and an Old Trafford bounce next week
This highlights in numbers what Arteta is all about - nothing. Not possession, not attacking, not creating, not scoring. Just 11 man kicking a ball about.
We’re 5th though. Where is that stat?
Also, who decides what a “big” chance is?
Football is obsessed with stats now lol.
They’re just chances where the player is more likely to score rather than not like very close to goal for example.
Yeah it’s why lots of my optimism is being sucked away, our decent run I think was largely just due to a predominantly favourable part of the schedule. Watford, Norwich and Burnley are all bottom 5 teams and that’s half our wins. Those metrics aren’t sustainable for a team with 4th placed aspirations.
Didn’t we take 1 from 6 against Burnley last year though. There are some positives even if I think Arteta is not the right guy to take us forward.
Yeah we did, but that really shouldn’t be a level we are comparing ourselves to.
Thing is though is the top teams won’t be posting similar stats unless they’re having a crappy season.
Playing like that throughout a season means things will even out just like last season where all that Christmas table rubbish resulted in an 8th placed finish.
Did I miss this?
I was part of the crew that talked up some of our form in the last 24 games of last season, trying to look past what was a very disappointing exit to Villarreal.
But I’m genuinely concerned, we have games coming up against an out of sorts United and Everton away and I can’t confidently predict we’ll win either, reckon it’s all a coin flip.
Both of those games are coin flips for me.
Go to OT and play moderately well, get a result against a team that is in total meltdown.
Go to OT, miss a few chances and then get suckerpunched by a scrub like McTominay on a lucky shot from 40 yards.
Play Everton and cruise to a 2-0.
Play Everton and have Gabriel sent off in the fifth minute for dragging Richarlison down.
All of those things feel very plausible.
So are you saying that you are returning to “miserable cunt” gang cuz we lost a game of footy against the 2.best team in the world?
Nah I expected a loss, the manner is disappointing though but yeah I was never sold on us so expected.
I’ll turn into a miserable cunt again if we don’t win 4/5 vs Newcastle, United, Everton, Southampton and West Ham.
Oof. Guess we all know when to start steering clear of Aussie because I’m not so sure where that fourth win is coming from.
Need to beat Newcastle and Southampton at home.
Win 2/3 vs United, Everton and West Ham.
That for me shows progress.
Would you take two wins, two draws and a loss? Edit: Assuming we play well in the draws and just don’t get a break here or there.
Absolutely not. 8 points from our next 15 simply isn’t going to cut it. Would leave us with a very mediocre 28 from 17.
That’s fair. I’m also kind of at the “points over performance” after a big loss like today. IDGAF how we win the next match but we absolutely need to win it.
