Got a nought for all those crosses
The board should have been seeking out a manager replacement weeks ago but you can guarantee that when Arteta gets sacked in January it’ll be one of his assistants as caretaker until July.
I’m looking forward to the excitement of the relegation battle.
Every opponent is difficult for us now though. We’re past the point where you look at the fixtures and think “We’ve got Burnley at home next weekend, mark that one down for an easy 3 points”. I have as much confidence in us breaking down a side like Burnley atm as I do in us getting a result against a decent side who will at least open up a bit. When you can’t score or even create chances, anyone is a tough opponent.
Now is the time to fire him.
Give the new manager a taste of a few games, and then decide what we need in January.
We have to fire him NOW.
Ive never undersood why clubs do this. You’re going to sack a manager, but keep his assistant in place who is likely loyal to them in some way? And wouldn’t the players also associate the assistant with the last manager’s regime by default? Sometimes it works, but I’ve always found it strange. Hopefully we just bomb this entire staff out.
Amen to that mate
More than half the managers in the PL could do a better job than Arteta.
Just get one of them in.
More than half are.
Hussentahl would be a great shout if big names say no.
I’m not a big Huf haus fan. Would prefer to leave him in Hampshite
He’s got to go, Jesus.
You’re right mate.
I’m just thinking more “stop-gap”
We’re closer to Pearson territory, though.
From collecting cones to managing us into the ground.
Our answer to Di Matteo.
Thanks for the FA Cup but it’s well past your bedtime geezer.
Anyone have Rafa’s phone number?
Why are we suddenly pumping crosses into the box for a striker who doesn’t score with his head? This Respectball formation that worked so well last year with Aubameyang cutting in from the left has been found out but Arteta can’t come up with anything new.
He’s put his trust in players that can’t do the job they’re being asked to do and is paying the price. We all know that some of these guys aren’t good enough but the manager should have enough self-awareness to change things. If he was the one that talked the talk about a meritocracy why didn’t we see more of the guys from Thursday play today? Why wasn’t Elneny playing today? Why wasn’t Nelson playing instead of Willian who was dogshit again?
I understand having conviction in your principles like Bielsa but the truth is that Arteta has been here for a year and doesn’t know how to play with this team. It looked like we were going in one direction prior to lockdown only to have him debut a Respectball formation after we lose our first two games of Project Restart. That novel formation won us a cup but now there’s plenty of tape on it and we can’t replicate its success. An actual coach would innovate with the players he has, player that he advocated for like Willian, Xhaka, Aubameyang and Lacazette. But he can’t do it.
I gave Emery a ton of shit for playing bad stuff and said he should go. This is way worse. Arteta should go too. We need an actual rebuild with an actual DoF in charge, not a manager who’s still learning his trade.
44 Crosses I hear, are we sure Arteta isn’t playing Football Manager? Setting the play to ‘down both flanks’ and setting crosses to max?
Jesus joint 20th for chances created .
The saddest thing about all this is Arteta is really really fucking stupid. This man came out and said well if we cross it into the box a lot we will score eventually this guy has so few ideas this is his last gasp, he’s dying on the crossing it in to the box hill. Y’all didn’t believe me when I told u Mikel really is a fucking moron
