Didn’t he say a couple of months ago that we need players? Something like this is the best you’re going to get from this lot.
I guess we did get Willian and Gabriel so maybe that’s enough for him.

Arteta’s 20 PL games last season: 33 points
Southampton: 34 points
It’s basically bad football, that has the team finishing 6th or 7th (with numbers worse than that). Not boring football, but with the team on the kind of form that would have you finishing top 4.
That is exactly how you drive an organisation forward.
The alternative is to just sit back and do nothing which is why we’re in this mess.
People like Ferguson and Mourinho constantly moan and that’s what made them successful because it got things done.
Complacency has been at this club since Wenger was here and we need someone to take the club by the scruff of the neck and say enough is enough.
I’m not sure Arteta is the man to do it but he definitely won’t be if the board don’t back him in his first transfer window.
IIf Jorginho he is the only midfield signing it will be a complete insult by the board towards Arteta.
They thought he was a better option than Ancelotti, Rodgers, Allegri, Pochettino etc, so they should be backing him all the way.
I’m gonna start quoting all manner of nonsense now.
You’d think being vindicated feels good. No, I just feel angry at the pish we’ve had to endure and the amount of shills defending it.
I swear, had Arteta started purposely fielding 10 players every game, on purpose. Some speccy cunt on the athletic would have written 10,000 words of shite on how that is an inspired tactical move, and the drones in the arsenal fandom would swallow it.
I hope this foray into common sense continues, but I doubt it, because everyone involved in this club likes acting bald.
Here we go!
PL
4 games
3 wins
#ArtetaOut
Is there anyone on the forum that’s actually for sacking Arteta right now? I swear there isn’t
Today was distinctly Emery, clueless with the ball, had to make changes to the team mid game which shouldve been there from the start and we win. Much like his winning streak
Got lucky at the end still missing that quality in midfield that we were always renowned for ?
He just needs to keep it simple a bit more. I think we looked infinitely better when we had Willian playing on the left / centre and Pepe proved a genuine threat on the right
Aubameyang is an amazing striker and he showed today his quality playing centrally. He showed he can operate with his back to goal and played a crucial role in the build up to the first goal. Stop with the Lacazette nonsense and just play Auba up top.
I can’t commend him for the first 60 minutes because that’s as bad as anything I’ve seen but one things for sure we proved capable without Xhaka so hopefully the myth of his importance dies.
Gabriel a huge bright spot today too
Why doesn’t he understand that you shouldn’t start 2 strikers who don’t aid build up play. As soon as we have 2 wingers and 2 fullbacks we shred them.
Adopt the concept of Keep it simple stupid please. That is all. None of this fancy geek crap.
One touch passing, working from back to front will be a cornerstone of Arteta ball and currently we see snapshots of it. When it is pulled off its great to see
There’s no denying that we spend most of the time being cautious and favouring a defensive approach - this may be done at times when Arteta doesn’t fully trust his players (e.g. Benching Pepe when he is apparently one of his fave players).
In the long term I’m not worried about our approach, I think Mikel will be less cautious when our midfield improves. But with what we have now, it looks more about trust in the current players upfront and how he sets them up - if he relaxes a bit and is not as rigid, we have huge potential to be more fluid (like 2nd half today)
But the key is as you just said when the midfield improves.
We have 24 hours or so for that to happen otherwise we will just be clinging too randam stats like this.
Yes it has not been a good start in terms of overall play but that’s 5 wins in 6 games, granted two of those wins were draws but they were draws against Liverpool.
I don’t think anyone has said they want him sacked and, even if they did, there is no way the board will do it anyway.
But, although we have nine points from four games, we have played the two worst teams in the PL, we were lucky against West Ham and taught a lesson by Liverpool.
We have had fewer shots than almost every other team and conceded more than most.
So Arteta might not get sacked but he also doesn’t deserve that much praise either.
I’ve said that he should get the rest of this season to try and turn this lumbering shambles of a club around but if he doesn’t get a top six place, then I will consider him not good enough and will have to go.
I feel this is a little unfair on Arteta. I think we’re much improved defensively and have forwards who can get us goals. Against Liverpool last week they played out of their skins but we were really in it until the final few minutes.
It’s maybe more George Graham than the joys of early Wenger time but it’s a start. Last season we would’ve struggled to get 3 points against Sheffield but I thought we deserved the win today.
I think Arteta is getting what he can from this squad with limited new funds from above after we blew so much on Emery’s team in the reign of Raul and left the cupboard bare.
He has switched to 4-3-3 for two games in a row now and has a little sample of success with having Ceballos, Saka, Willian, Pepe and Aubameyang on the pitch together.
Gabriel has also shown he should get a very solid run in the side.
The fact he hasn’t stuck to 3-4-3 like everyone resigned themselves to thinking he would is a VERY significant positive sign.
Fair point.
It was a very negative display and it’s disappointing to see us set up that way. But we don’t have the players to go toe to toe with Liverpool.
For all of you defending that pathetic fucking display by Arteta last week, Villa just ended up cunting them and having 18 shots and 11 of those on goal scoring 7 lelelellellelelelelelel Guess that empty Anfield ended up intimidating us or some shit fuck man it’s fun to be right all the time
One of the few guys able to coach a defence this year it seems tbf.
