Super Mik Arteta

You can see with some of the big wins this season, we got a potential great manager on our hands. To win a FA Cup in his first couple of months in his first Job is amazing feat to be fair. If he get’s the right backing and get’s rid of a lot of the deadwood, if we bring in a top Centre Back, Defensive Mid and Creative mid maybe one or two others. Plus sign Auba to a new deal. I think this side can give it a go for top 4 or at least win the Europa League. So much potential.

Quite right.
To win the League title, the FA Cup, the League Cup and a European trophy as both a player then manager is something not many people do. :grinning:

It’s a nice morale boost but I hope everyone at the club doesn’t get too carried away and expect too much of Arteta. Let’s not forget 3 years ago we beat exactly the same clubs in the semi and final to win the FA cup while also finishing the league stronger, only for the manager to be sacked next season.

Obviously an aging Wenger is no comparison to an up and coming exciting manager like Arteta, so there’s real hope now. But I wouldn’t be surprised or too disappointed if next season we still can’t get top four. City and Liverpool remain strong as ever, United squad is getting scary, as is Chelsea’s. Given the kind of names we’re being linked with in the transfer market, I think Arteta still has to work miracle, or we need one of the clubs above to fail spectacularly, to get top four.

What an absolute legend, that’s an astonishing amount to achieve as a player and manager for one club, across three decades.

Fuck that.
Get carried away, buy Messi

If we can improve our defense and get a creative player this summer (we need to be able to control the midfield against the bottom sides) that can get going from the start, we will have a chance. Both Chelsea and Utd are looking top going forward, but both are weak in defense. So far neither have gone out to sort that problem. So there is hope. I have more faith in Arteta getting his tactics right and hitting on the counter when needed than either of those two. I just want us to be in the hunt properly for the top 4. I’d take a top 4 fight, just missing out and getting 5th and winning the EL. The EL is a realistic target if we strengthen on the right places.

Yeah that’s a realistic target that I can be happy with. I think there’s not much competition from other leagues for the EL. Maybe Milan are the only real other candidate? All the top teams are going to the CL, so even with this squad and the improvement of our current players we can win it. League is more of a bonus for me.

We should have made Arteta our manager when we signed him in 2011

Fabulous praise from George Graham on TalkShyte this afternoon.
GG spoke with enthusiasm for Arteta and The Arsenal.
Great win yesterday, let’s hope the board back Arteta with signings and extended contracts .

I do be loving how ppl are in here celebrating this achievement like mad when Arsene did the same exact thing 3 years back then got more points than we did this season the following year and got sacked :joy::joy: glad to see you’ve all lowered ur standards :+1::+1::grin::grin:

People celebrated then as well.
Give our WOBs some credit. They love the club.

I do love how instead of embracing the celebratory mood and lack of antagonism you’ve come to talk shit and rile people up.

I’ve been thinking that the past twenty four hours on here have been far too happy and we’ve been getting along far too well, what we need is more division and arguing.

Guess it makes sense you’d act this way when you’re an Arsène fan first and Arsenal fan second :kissing_heart:

I know I’m taking the bait here, but quite a difference in circumstances between the 2.

Arteta took over a steaming pile of poo and had a great finish in under 8 months.

Arsene captured the magic one last time and didn’t ride off into the sunset.
