That would require Kroenke dipping into his wallet. And we all know that wont happen.
There’s a huge opportunity in front of us with this manager. If we don’t capitalise the accountability rests squarely with those higher up.
Well fair play here Arteta. Only have too look at our last two finals too see hes already proven himself better than Wenger and Emery.
Gained a piece of club history in months. Earned the right now to be backed and have his shot at planning his vision for Arsenal going forward.
Well he’s certainly better than what Wenger ended up becoming.
This pic is too powerful.
He might not have been captain, but gonna shout out George Graham here before the old timers on the forum start getting crotchety
Torreira with his three inch uncut hog amirite @BigWeng_4LYFE
Unai Emery…smh.
(his wife btw)
Higgsbosonteta - the absolute fucking man
I’m never gonna sleep as good as I am tonight fucking A bro
Been over a decade since I could say this, but I am an AKB
Arteta spoke about how massive winning the FA Cup would be. Not just financially, but in terms of winning over the squad and convincing them that he is the man to be followed.
To win the FA Cup, beating both City and Chelsea in the process, is a huge moment for Arteta. It’s the kind of event that unites the fanbase. It’s such a huge turning point in terms of morale. It was a sickeningly pressurised situation and his team delivered. To come from behind and win shows proper character, and makes the victory all the sweeter.
It’s quite astonishing that he’s a newbie to management but has won a trophy in his first few months. Who would have thought we’d end the season on such a high when we sacked Emery last year.
Football can be so depressing but also so fucking uplifting too.
Yeah it really is crazy when you think about it, we truly hit rock bottom this season when Emery got sacked and then again when we went out to Olympiakos.
Things looked so dire, especially with that loss to Brighton as well as Villa but this will be a true watershed moment for Arteta and the club.
He’s shown he can outmanoeuvre and outplay the big clubs, and can handle the pressure of a cup final against a top club. Now he just needs to work on having a game plan that can work against the little shithouse clubs fighting relegation lol
But seriously the mood at the club and amongst the players must be incredible. We didn’t fluke this win, this was all Arteta and the players executing the game plan. The morale boost will be massive and I think it’ll really create a sense of belonging and belief amongst the players in regards to our future and the way we move forward as a club.
Looking forward to next seasons and now I just hope that this further consolidates managements belief in Arteta and makes them willing to give him even more money to spend.
This is such a big deal for Arteta and the club as a whole. After the bullshit start to still win a trophy, and reach European football (I know some of you hate EL but to be in Europe kind of does matter) has to be so uplifting for everybody involved. He also won it with a fair share of injuries/beef with Ozil and Guendouzi to deal with. Massive credits for him.
There have been some really questionable results (Olympiakos, Brighton, Aston Villa), but in points per game in the League Arteta has been equal to Leicester. Without any proper investments unlike Solksjaer. Or yeah a Segunda Division centre back.
On the pitch in most games there are finally coherent performances to see with clear ideas what the team is supposed to do (pressing, not just looking for the flanks to spam cut backs, but with the purpose to create space, better implementation of ‘building from the back’).
Obviously there is still a fuck load of work to do. Arsenal doesn’t create shit against the smaller teams, which is also partially because the squad is imbalanced as fuck. There is however some perspective. It’s not just talk but we can see what the manager is trying to do.
I know there are some here who see noting in appointing these former players, downright hate it, but to see Arteta, Ljungberg and Edu celebrate etc is terrific.
I really hope he is given the backing. This is the first time in a long time that I’m truly excited for next season. If we make some of the right moves in the transfer window, we should have a chance of top 4 and winning the Europa League (I really want to win it next season).
Whilst we still have some way to go, just imagine Auba re-signing and in that contract period Arteta and him bringing the PL trophy back to North London. I actually feel we’d have a real shot with those two if Arteta gets the backing with money spent on the right type of players.
