exactly. Also, he talks football so well (imo). I can’t get over how he talks the talk just the way I want to hear it when I listen to him. Some walking to do too ofc but it doesn’t hurt that he points out the right things and focuses on the right things, his head is undeniably in the right place (whether he will ever be able to execute it or not) for me.

The xG goal difference with Arteta is -0.51
it was +9 during Emery’s first (and -0.06 this season) and +24 during Wenger’s last season.
Flawed stat perhaps, but it does tell you something about dominant you are throughout the games.

He’s obviously still experimenting with a squad that has been fucking rung out over the last season or two.
Sometimes the experiment goes well (see wins against City, Liverpool and Wolves), sometimes not so much (Villa, Brighton).
I still think his positives outweigh the negatives, and I’m not going to criticise him for those losses (discouraging though they may be) because he’s clearly doing well in a completely fucked and unknown situation for our club.
I’m sceptical about next season, as I think a lack of a real pre-season and a schedule that’s been totally offset as well as potentially new economic era for football where we probably won’t be able to make many important and needed transfers.
In fact I’m already writing next season off due to that fact, and if he achieves anything above 7th next season I’ll be very happy and consider it a success.
Shit set up against Villa. Nothing wrong with expressing that view. We need solutions against the low block by the start of next season.
