Squad Management

I love Lucho but he’s an idiot for that one. Cristante has had a very creditable career but how shallow is the pool of CMs if that’s who you’re riding with in the center?

Cristante’s has improved a lot since Mourinho arrived to be fair. I think he’s gone to another level since last season.

His tactical awareness is top class which funnily enough is Jorginho’s best attribute is.

Good to see squad players like Eddie, Trossard, Jorginho and Partey getting used. Ramsdale is also a squad man now.

hope ESR gets some more minutes; otherwise he is just being wasteful and better sell him.

ESR is the one who in my opinion could be trusted much more.

Kiwior barely gets a look in either.

As much as I didn’t want to see Eddie upfront yesterday, he’s a squad player who os clearly trusted.

against City (or CL important game), you won’t think of Kiwior at all…

Agreed.

It doesn’t seem that he’s trusted much at all though. He’s started on league game and that was at full back. Tomi and White seem above him in the cb pecking order.

I think Kiwior will see some time over the next few months. We really only have six defenders so one injury and he is next man up (alongside Partey) during a period in which we play twice a week for like 10 weeks straight or something crazy like that.

That Timber injury really sucked…

TLDR: Saliba playing with an injection

Saka was always going to be out but club fed up with leaks

Neto and Toney mostly being pushed by agent talk for now.

Partey?

Hybrid 6/8 CM needed, Partey can’t stay fit and no one can lock down the no 8 position anyways.

CF needed, Jesus injured a lot, it’s late October and Eddie has played 600 mins in the league, which isn’t acceptable for a team wanting to win the title.

Good use of subs by Arteta once again. Happy to see Martinelli/Saka and Rice taken off. The load on Rice for club and country is intense, so Arteta needs to take care of him.

Raya, Havertz and Nketiah really are odd ones out in this squad. It especially sucks since we bought two of them and signed the other on a long term deal.

Be ruthless with ESR and Fábio in the summer Mikel, inconsistent often unavailable squad players are no good when you’re competing in this league.

Hopefully it can raise 60 or so mill and we go out spend that and a little more on a quality, durable box to box option

Arteta doesn’t see ESR as a first team regular so maybe should have taken the 40m Aston Villa were quoted as offering for him.
Both him and Vieira are decent enough squad players but, considering how rarely they play in the first team, they seem to get far too many injuries.
So it might be best to sell them while they still hold some value and get a player that’s more reliable.

Really annoying that certain squad players are absolute crocks. Really limits how much rotation we can do in certain positions.

Squad next summer, obviously not taking into account players we might bring in or ship out in January.

Elneny and Cedric blurred out with their contracts up.

Outs we can predict Ramsdale, Partey and the majority of those out on loan this season.

If we bring in a world class striker then jesus probably becomes the versatile attacker that would provide competition to the wingers, so probably rules out signing a wideman. Other than that, a high quality midfielder and defender will be next on the list?

Man wrote a whole essay about Arsenal.
What a loser! :arteta:
You remind me of me :santi:

When I look at the names on that list, I just feel uninspired besides the obvious 4-5 guys.

How has Arteta managed to make us into title contenders with that squad again?

Here’s hoping we improve the quality of personnel in upcoming windows and even refresh some of the main guys who are no longer up to scratch to get us over the line.

Legendary work for what he’s done the past 4 years.
