It all depends on who is available.

Yesterdays team will be lucky to get a draw.

I have zero expectations

We NEED players back ffs.

[formation=4-2-3-1]
Raya
Timber - Saliba - Mosquera - Calafiori
Zubimendi - Rice
Madueke - Odegaard - Trossard
Gyokeres
[/formation]

Gyokeres owes these guys a beating. Would be nice to dish it out to them in their own ground.

Away games in Portugal are often tricky though, with the exception of the last time we went to Sporting.

Bring at least a draw back, and it’s a decent night’s work.

You’re expecting Saka and Gabriel to be out?

We don’t score enough. 2-1 Sporting. We should be able to get by in the second leg. Confidence on the floor.

Yeah

we’ve been found out. Another loss is coming.

Can we have some intensity please.

No more horseshoe of death.

These are bad teams we are playing most of the time.

We don’t need to control or whatever or be so cautious

This is the ground where Gyokeres made his name. Anything less than a brace from him will be disappointing.

They’re going all in on this for this game btw.
They played on Friday, they rotated quite a bit and still won.

I should note though, title race has blew right open in Portugal. Porto have dropped points and Sporting are within distance now of catching them.

Sporting are playing Benfica away in the league after the return leg. A win for us in Portugal (even marginal) and I think Sporting may decide to take it easy in London.

Trossard, Rice, Eze and Gabriel in training apparently

As it’s a first leg ahead of a must win league game at the weekend, I’m kind of hoping that Saka is being rested this week.

If those four are back training and in the squad for the trip to Lisbon that’s fantastic news and gives me confidence that we can get a result there and at home at the weekend.

Should we be worried about Sporting’s (home) form?

All I can think about is the easy 5-1 thrashing we gave them recently.

Yes.

Btw, surprised at the lack of surprise at Eze being back much earlier than expected.

I am a bit worried about Saka and Timber though.

Yea I thought I’d be more surprised by that but surprisingly I’m not.

We won’t win and it’ll be 3 without a win heading into Bournemouth and that’s the game I worry about
