If he was worth €16.5m when he was 30 then €4.5m sounds fine when he’s 32. It’s hardly like he’s proven anything more in those 2 years.

4.5m isn’t too bad as it gets his wages off the books and clears out another defender. Also frees up the #5 for Partey’s arrival

If true he’s on close to 100k a week then clears up around 4.5m in wages for the remainder of his year to go nicely with the fee

Sad to see him go as he was a bit of a cult favourite type for me. I loved how nasty he could be and as just an out and out defender I think he’s better than what we had last year. Wish him all the best, and happy with the tidy return we got considering his age wage return.
Honestly at this point I feel we going to have to under value some of the players just to get them off the books, car boot sale type clear out.
