I admit i have no idea how clubs handle transfers, but i imagine that it would go something like this if we did our business properly…

At which point we have 2 options, find out if the player wants to come and how much he wants, and if the wage demands are ok with the club, pay the fee, or meet them in the middle if possible…what the fuck else is there to negotiate???

Doesn’t need to think hard that there would be discussions about paperwork, agent fees, transfer of medical records, and of course negotiation of transfer fee & how will the amount be paid (stages & all).
And if Valencia wants to be difficult & add some clause of getting percentage of his sale in n future, then add more time to discussion.
Still confident here, just know that this will run all the way to the end of the window, every news outlet says it’s done and then a week later arsenal.com, in typical fashion, will officially announce the deal with photos to boot.

This issue isn’t getting it done or not. The issue is the manager had no since of urgency to fill a position of need.
25 days since Per’s injury. 10 days since Gab’s. Why wasn’t the position filled sooner?

Chill guys, i was just making the point that buying players is not that hard. as for paperwork, it’s all pretty standard. only names, clauses, fees, wages, and dates need to be filled in i’d imagine.
When Wenger is fucked and needs a piece of shit from Everton he sure knows how to get a fucking move on. that deal was done within a matter of hours. i don’t buy all this crap about negotiating. it’s not a trade deal involving every country on the planet.

There is also an assumption that delay is only from buying side.
Fair chance Valencia would like to delay to get more clubs interested and make as much as possible.
It’s not like selling club are in any obligation to get things done quickly.
True, but from what very little we can gather, the hold up is with our side. besides, we’ve known all summer long (before that if you want to be realistic) what the squad needs. there’s simply no excuse for not having our business done already.
Pretty apathetic to this either way.
If he was proper good then Chelsea probably would have hijacked this transfer ages ago.
But then we are down on numbers so we need a decent signing like this anyways.
And the way the club have dragged it out just adds further frustration.
Find it laughable that just this one signing in a time we need two and ideally three is set to go right to the final stretch of the transfer window.

Ornstein repeated what Oliver Kay said this afternoon regarding all three parties being keen to complete this transfer, hold up is our negotiations because we’re trying to keep the fee as low as possible to have money available for a possible striker signing.
Also said we had no real interest in Mahrez and Higuain, has no information on Icardi and isn’t sure how far we went for Lacazette despite our interest.
