Serie A

So Osimhen and Retegui leave Serie A and Turkey return Dzeko and Amrabat, fucking hell and I thought things were looking up.

Whilst Arsenal are seen as losers for signing Noni , real winners Napoli want to sign player’s like Noa Lang ffs🤦‍♂️

Obviously Napoli has won two titles in the last three years, but if Inter and Juventus get their shit together I’d assume Napoli is still a club that would finish 3rd through 5th in that League (budget-wise etc.). For that level Noa Lang is a good player.

Writing was on the wall for the league when Inter got more money playing 4 games in a glorified friendly tournament than they did for winning the Serie A lol

The imbalance in football is crazy right now and shows no signs of slowing down

Well as mentioned in an above post when top players are leaving and the clubs are buying failed players in other leagues and oap’s I can’t see any outside investment coming to Serie A.
Everyone in Italy knows the first step is for clubs to own their stadium.
As much as ADL gets stick his heart is in the right place when it comes to him wanting to buy the stadium.

How many clubs in Serie A actually own their own ground?

It’s literally like 4 of them. Maybe 5 at most.

So who owns them? And do they get the gate receipts, or does that go to the owner?

I’ll leave this one to @Jesseviolin I know he’s going to sum it up way better than me

Local councils it’s why they don’t want clubs to own them, it’s a money maker.
For example Napoli’s stadium is fucking horrible the stands are miles from the pitch and it’s in a right state.
But the bureaucracy in Naples is what you can imagine it to be and councils need a lot of backhanders to make anything work.

Football is a very important fabric of society in Naples, it’s everywhere but the powers that be are only out to get what they want

Do they have to pay rent too? So the councils will get the rent as well as the gate receipts.

The clubs have to pay rent but they do retain a large proportion of the gate receipts.

I think not too sure if it applies now but in the domestic cup games the gate is shared between both teams playing.

It’s fucked up really, it’s why you see 4 or 5 shirt sponsors on the strips

De Bruyne scores on his debut

Tough start for Allegri

Very tidy goaL by Hojlund in his first game for Napoli :face_holding_back_tears::face_holding_back_tears:

Maybe he wasn’t the problem after all :grin:

Thought he was a top talent at Atalanta but he was nowhere near ready for the move, especially for the fee he eventually went for.

Wouldn’t be shocked at all if he rediscovers form after leaving that rotten club.

Yeah. There was some very obvious raw talent in him, but that fee was always crazy for what he offered previoisly and obviously the expectations were too high. Combined with all the mess on the pitch, no wonder it went the wrong way. (RIP Sesko lol)

Wouldn’t be surprised at all if he has a brilliant season at Napoli.

He wasn’t even really a starter at Atalanta. Zapata was ahead of him. Should’ve stayed there at least another season.
Awful timing to move.

Seems to me he got a lot of unreasonable hate, given the situation at Man Utd and how many other players did not live up to their potential either. He basically scored every international break as well, so it wasn’t likely he wasn’t constantly blanking - he just didn’t get any service.

Early days at Napoli, but that’s a very well taken goal and I think he’ll prove a lot of people wrong.
