Sure, keep saying that to yourself.
This is a strange hill to die on.
We simply don’t play the kind if football we do without him. Without that we do not go on the form we’ve been on the past 18 months that is now seeing us leading the PL table.
Atleast I won’t feel stupid calling 45m pounds a bargain, while dying
I genuinely don’t know what team you are watching, because it isn’t Arsenal.
But lets revisit this when he gets injured and our entire midfield collapses.
You can’t get a better example than when he got injured at the end of last season. The difference between him in the team, and out, is there for all to see.
I didn’t say Partey has not been our best player but no way has he been a bargain.
Considering he was a non player for 1.5 seasons, I have no idea how anyone can even call him a bargain.
Goes against everything Mikel and Edu are trying to do spending that much on a 28 year old
Didn’t they spend this much on Partey?
Very true, was it before the window where we went young though?
White, Lokonga, Ramsdale?
Thought we’d signed the fucker
I think the club have certainly identified a specific age profile of player that they like but I can see they’re willing to venture away from that for the right player.
Partey is a unique midfield player and even at 28 he was worth the €45m investment because you won’t find someone who can replicate his skill set that was even remotely obtainable for us.
Different needs for different periods. We’re ahead of schedule as Arteta and Edu have said before. We’re currently leading the PL table.
Back in 2021 all our signings were 23 and under. The past summer we signed very experienced 25 year olds.
Older guys will eventually come into play. It’s inevitable.
Auba did, but he was older.
Dele turned to shit before he even turned 26.
Feel bad for the guy. Think he’s even having a tough time in Turkey.
He is, they’re apparently trying to send him back to Everton but Everton don’t want him back. Could see an early retirement in the books.
Not before he makes a stop off at Inter Miami. I’m sure he’d love it.
Yer I agree
I think we need the experience as well, its just how much in their plan they can allow to deviate from their process to bring in those players and for how much
Is there a more depressing combination than 2023 Dele Ali being managed by Phil fucking Neville?
I’d have to find a different sport to watch, maybe curling or that one where you run down a hill chasing a fucking wheel of cheese

Feel bad for the guy. Think he’s even having a tough time in Turkey.
He can meet up with Torreria and be shit together.
