I get why us Arsenal fans are gonna dislike anything pro-Spurs but, from a more neutral perspective, they are a club that sort of sits outside the more recent (last 20 years or so) power group of clubs, so it kinda follpws that when they have a good spell, whether that’s 5 to 10 games or a few good seasons, they will get a lot of love. People like to see that in sports.
Spurs are in that perfect zone of being good enough to potentially challenge the big boys at times yet small enough that they haven’t garnered any real hatred for being successful.
I just don’t really buy this idea that they are loved by the media, rather their situation and status kinda creates a platform for a certain type of reporting.

Also, this classy chap got booked for dissent towards the referee, and there were no controversial decisions that went against Spurs. They rightfully had 2 players sent off, and all the major decisions were correct. It cannot be compared to the Newcastle v Arsenal game.
More importantly, you’re not protecting your club. You’re not protecting your fans. You’re not protecting the whole fucking institution.

I think the media says these things about them cause they truly know that they are and will always be a nothing club. It’s just to make Spurs fans feel better about their failures throughout their history as a club.
