Not sure how Whoscored put theirs together but the figures I’ve seen from totalfootballanalysis and Statman Dave are higher than theirs.

@shamrockgooner: over my head mate, still half asleep.

Pogba is better than Ndombele any day of the week

Pogba the fraud is four years older.

Ndombele will be at the very least be more consistent despite the age gap, not a good look for your boy.

Pogba is an elite midfielder and will prove that once he leaves the poisoned environment of Manchester United where he had to suffer playing alongside dross like McTominay, Matic and Fellaini.

He’s been feeding balls into Rashford, Lukaku and Lingard and being asked to perform unfamiliar duties due to the haphazard nature of the United team.

Nah man, doesn’t wash.

When he was babysat by Pirlo and Marchiso it was all good but when he was supposed to be the man he floundered, sulked and didn’t live up to the billing. He’s just not that guy. If he’s supposed to be even the second best player in the your team you’re in big trouble.

His utter of consistency is a joke for someone who cost that much and who is supposedly a top player, if you’re someone that people say “on his day he’s world class” then you aren’t really elite. Smoke and mirrors.

Jose for all his faults merely wanted him to contribute to the defensive side, something Ndombele has no issue with and handles with ease.

The difference between Pogba and Ndombele is night and day and the next few years will show that to be the case.

You’re comparing two players four years apart, hardly fair.

And you said Pogba’s better than him any day of the week, well that’s not strictly true is it when he’d be utter pants for at least half of it :joy:

If you’re good then you’re good. Pogba has been an elite midfielder since his early 20s so there will be no excuses for Ndombele. He comes with a big reputation and a hefty transfer fee so the pressure to perform arrives from the get go.

At least he’ll benefit from playing in a well drilled tactical unit whereas Pogba has been suffering since he joined United playing with a bunch of hacks in a disjointed and dysfunctional team.

Pogba isn’t what you claim he is, you’re not truly elite when you’re the antithesis to consistency. Funny how he gets no blame at all, it’s all down to United.

He’s done sweet FA in three years and it’s not all down to United, sure they suck but if that’s the case he should stick out and shine through the shit on a consistent basis. Doesn’t matter what system he’s played in, got his wish to be played in a three (on the left side no less lmao) and it didn’t change a damn thing.

Ndombele is good indeed and is potentially great, might need to adjust but I’d say there’s a very good chance that his level of performance over a three year period will eclipse Pogba’s in a Untied shirt.

Let’s just agree to disagree bruv.

They both make such compelling arguments I don’t know who to agree with!!

But Pogba is elite. There are endless examples of top quality players who have failed to shine in certain environments and it’s rarely an indication of their quality.

Pogba was influential at Juventus and was an important cog in one of the best midfields in Europe. He commanded the transfer fee he did because it was seen as a reflection of his quality, his potential and his contribution to Juventus rise back to the top of Italian football.

Mourinho wanted him to play in a defensive role he wasn’t accustomed to and had him partnering average players in midfield. His vision and creativity is world class yet his quality was being wasted with players like Lukaku, Lingard and Rashford ahead of him.

The reality is - how many central midfield players would shine and perform at their maximum capability playing in the current Manchester United team? The answer is not a whole lot.

The system is just as important as the player and when you have a mercurial talent like Pogba and you ask him to do unfamiliar things in an average/mediocre team - you’re not going to get the best out of the player.

This guy has been a mercurial talent from young. Golden ball during France’s success u20 World Cup win in 2013. He’s a World Cup winning midfielder (a productive and successful WC from him). He was the best young player at the 2014 WC. He was influential for Juventus even after Vidal and Pirlo had left for pastures new and Marchisio was on the decline.

He’s proven his ability for France, for Juventus and whilst he’s admittedly had an underwhelming spell at United it is not reflective of his ability. He arrived during a time when the entire squad is unbalanced and has been subject to behind the scenes instability.

Once he returns to Juventus or goes to Real Madrid and plays with good quality players - you’ll see the guys capability and ability again. Until then he’s always going to look out of place when he’s so far ahead of the players playing around him.

If I put KDB in that United midfield he’s performing better as is David Silva at his peak and the like.

You aren’t elite still trading off of years playing in a dominant Juve team with Pirlo and Marchisio beside you, what has he done since then? We’re asking for basic consistency here which is surely the foundation of a true world class player. Pogba falls woefully short. There’s no hiding in the PL bro. You can say he can do this and his vision is that but what does it actually amount to right now? Not much at all.

Like I said, if it’s actually a susrpise for you to perforn to a high level consistently then you’re not genuinely in the elite company.

This is total speculation though. We’ve got more evidence of elite level talent floundering at United in recent seasons than anything else so it’s more likely that if you took KDB or Silva out of City and put them in United - they’d struggle too.

Besides you’d have to credit Pep with the transformation (or in Silva’s case - prolonging) of those players and they wouldn’t have that benefit playing at United.

It’s speculation sure but it’s based on what we’ve seen from them not just under Pep but even in other leagues particularly in KDB’s case.

When Pogba is bad he’s exceedinly bad, some of those performances can make one’s eyes bleed. Some act like he’s prime Yaya or something. When in reality he’s capable of sublime performances but they are too few and far in between, that my friend is not the definition of a real world class player.

Time will tell with Ndombele but I’m banking on him being a legit star with the consistency to match.

It doesn’t add up with Squawka either

Pogba is elite but in the same way that Ozil, Riquelme and Veron were. He’ll jog in defense and not put in a shift when he doesn’t feel up for it. He’s a luxury player. I don’t think he could play in a modern high press.

Mourinho tried to play him in a midfield 2 behind a CAM. Pogba didn’t defend well enough or play with enough intensity. Eventually Mourinho figures out he needs to put 2 DMs with Pogba and it worked.

End of last season certain fans hated him because of his lack of effort.

It will be very interesting if Pogba goes to Real because excuses can’t be made for him there.

It’s a bit of a fallacy that Pogba needs 2 DMs to play. He played many times at Juventus without playing alongside 2 DMs and showed versatility there by often playing on the left of a midfield 4.

There were many games (big ones included) where he’d play in midfield alongside Hernanes, Khedira, Sturaro etc and did a fine job because the team was structured in a way that allowed him to thrive.

United are a disjointed mess who are about to spend £80m on a CB who is so far from being world class.

I just wouldn’t use his time at United against him in the way others do

What Pogba needs is better players than himself in the midfield around him.

If he’s the supposed best player it will end in tears. United are a shit show but thst doesn’t mean Pogba had to be too.

Pogba is such an elite midfielder.
Shame he never seem to provide an elite performance
