While it may be the biggest sporting event, there is still a market that football might never tap into.
Youāve mentioned the Americans with the Super Bowl. Itās not a sport that appeals to me, either, but American football is undoubtedly bigger than soccer there (as is baseball, basketball and ice hockey)
India and Pakistan are a huge populace who probably couldnāt give a crap about the World Cup, either.
China! The biggest populace. Got to one World Cup a few years back but I donāt think theyāre busting a gut to get 11 men to fashion a World Cup winning side.
Itāll be interesting to see where the World Cup goes in a few years with a 48 team entry.
