Who’d take a straight swap? Pepe to Leeds, Raphinha to Arsenal.

(Probably not Pepe lol)

Or Leeds supporters. :grinning:

Well, yeah, that’s a no brainer from an Arsenal side. Leeds would likely laugh us out the park though.

This is a big club apparently.

One thing about this Raphina link is no one is talking about what it might cost to get him here? Have any figures been thrown around, even rough guesses?

Thanks, honestly that’s less than I imagined.

I just can’t see us getting Raphinha at all. If we do it’s gonna be one of the best transfer windows of all time.

Vieira
Jesus
Tielemans
Raphinha
Martinez?

That’s insane

It’s the sort of window that’s required, to get where we eventually want to go, we’re coming from a long way back.

Absolutely. It would shut us up for sure regarding ambition etc.

It’s not just about ambition though, I feel like you could say we were showing ambition with £200m on Auba, Laca and Pepe. They simply weren’t the right fit for the club. You could argue Auba was a success but I don’t think we got the best out of him in our ever changing systems.

It seems like we’ve really got our head out of our arse in regard to the type of talent we’re pursuing. Arteta and Edu don’t seem to shy away from shopping in our domestic league either. I know people say EPL experience can be overstated, and it absolutely can. However if you were to add Jesus, Tielemans and Raphina to our starting 11 then I think we would improve exponentially overnight, with very little time needed for them to gel.

Great age, profile, experience both domestic and international. The money really doesn’t matter to me but all those other aspects do. There’s no such thing as guaranteed success but in terms of risk alleviation we’ve upped our game it seems. Let’s just see if we can actually land the targets now lol

Barca mortgaged all those tv rights and the best they can come up with are three quarters of a Chelsea backline? Fucking losers.

Leeds couldn’t afford Pepe. Our best hope is an Italian team take him on an installment based payment or PSG.

The Raphinha part of the deal seems complicated. Unless Raphinha decides he only wants to come here, there will be plenty of suitors and with Phillips likely to join City, it’s not as though they need the money.

Ideal situation is to move Nelson and Pepe out and bring in Raphinha. I like the idea of Saka and Martinelli as options on the left, with Raphinha and ESR options from the right.

People will still moan about Nkets being the backup lol.

#neverhappy

If we signed Raphina or a real goal scoring wide guy nobody’s going to care if Eddie plays backup striker because we’ll have more goals in the team.

The issue with Eddie as backup striker is only if we fail to add goals to the side.

Jesus + Eddie = not enough goals

Jesus + Raphina + Eddie = could be enough goals

I am glad you know this for definite

Nobody knows for sure, obviously but it doesn’t feel like enough.

The team doesn’t score enough and we had no ability to claw points back after going behind. We need more goals in the side.

Do you really think Eddie is going off for 15-20 goals next season? I’d love for that to happen but I just can’t see it.

I can see Eddie get 8-10 next season for sure
