I don’t believe that there is genuine interest from Spurs atm. All the rumours are about Barca and Arsenal atm.
Fabrizio Romano said last night that Barca had agreed personal terms with Raphinha in February but at the moment, they do not have the transfer funds available. They were banking on Leeds getting relegated, so it looks like a deal is off unless they sell some players to free up some funds. If Ornstein is saying there is genuine interest from us, then that’s enough for me. Also don’t think we need to worry about Saka…Raphinha would provide competition for Saka, not replace him. We’re clearly thinking big this summer!
actually i do…anyone can throw any garbage on a screen especially without a source and it is meant to be believed. Those people are ‘tap in’ merchants they seem to come in after all the news is out there by tonnes of sources and are like ‘yeah we knew of this’…of course they did. Where were these clowns with breaking news over Viera before it was common knowledge.
Both Ornstein and Romano have said Chelsea and Spurs are interested to be fair.
Would you be shocked to see Spurs try to hijack the deal seeing Arsenal move in for him?
They may be interested, but think they are behind the curve on this on atm, plus they both have other players in that position. We have Saka, and clearly Pepe looks like he is going to be on his way. Who knows, I may be wrong and getting sucked up with the hype, but like how proactive we are being in June!
I don’t really believe some rando Italian journalist necessarily has the correct inside story here. If Spurs were planning a bid to gazump us, I don’t think Paratici/Conte would leak that information on purpose, they’d want to keep it secret.
In any case, if we have competition from a club like Spurs for Raphinha then I hope this is where Edu’s personal connections with the likes of Deco and Mendes count for something.
we need a winger tbh, Pepe should be sold, Martinelli isnt consistent enough at the moment and should be a backup, so Raphina would be a very exciting signing for us with Saka playing on the other wing
