Do people remember how hyped up young Lukaku was? 
I never thought that much of him. I did watch him a few times even while at Anderlecht.
Had the size of a bear as a 16 year old. Fast too. Was pretty much bullying everyone with his sheere athleticisim but looked EXTREMELY raw technically.
Even though he got a lot of criticism for his touch during his prime, when you compare that to his early days he looks like Messi.

I remember he was getting new Drogba shouts. I believe he did say that was his idol growing up as well.
All in all he had a very good career but part of me thinks he didn’t really live up to his potential. Think he could have done even better if he made some some better career choices.
He was getting a lot of those.
Didn’t like that precisely. He wasn’t realy good with his back to the goal at all in those early days (was never really outstanding there), while Drogba was one of the best at it.
He was more a counter attacking threat, using his pace on bigger space, liked to take people on on the flank etc. Wasn’t really a great target man. Not really great in the air.
They loved to push those comparisons and it was annoying for me. They were always very very different types.
