Good player. Didn’t live up to the hype though.
Milan had a few good young players on their books at the time that never got a look in

Was Auba in the same generation?
My only memory of Gourcuff is watching every Chamakh goalz skillz assistz compilation in 2010 and thinking oh that was a lovely pass every time.
Closest thing to Zidane France came to produce since.
Injuries and lack of athleticism really cost him.
I do wonder if it was down to him being a bad trainer or his body not being built for it.
Gourcuff was pretty good FM2010, then they gutted the shit out of his stats in the later versions.
Nah. He just wasn’t as good as the hype suggested. Injuries didn’t help him but he was very timid and never really had the mentality to play for a big club.
Let’s be honest if he did he would have but clubs could spot a pussy from a mile off.
Find raw ability was overrated too, he was very slow in everything he did and he wasn’t Pirlo slow where he did things slowly but was just so ahead of everyone else that it didn’t matter. He literally would have been exposed had he tried to play at a bigger team.
Good player but really not as good as people hyped his talent out to be
Feels like that cover is a set up to get into a pedantic discussion over what’s a cult hero and what’s a legend.
For me, yes. And the answers he gives in this interview solidify it ![]()
Wowzas, those were some bangers.
But also talk about a name I haven’t thought of in a while haha
Big Andy has still got it!
Would have loved to have him here on a free!
Please tell me it’s an either/or situation with him and Wilshere, or do you actually aspire to collect every average English crock still just about plying their trade?
Seriusly man?!
The guy never had it in the first place. A poor man’s Giroud.
I genuinely think his transfer to Liverpool is one of the worst transfers in the Premier league history, considering his price at that time and his ability (he had none, except for exceptional heading).
Similar overall quality to prime Bendtner basically.
Anders Limpar was a great player. Cult hero quite easily (although this sometimes takes away from just how good a player actually is)
Disagree big time. In his peak, he was the embodiment of the traditional English no.9 archetype, in terms of style of player and mentality.
His career was derailed by injuries and poor career moves but he was in a great spot he an absolutely dominant CF on the pitch.
I def would prefer him at Arsenal over nketiah as sub/depth option, far more interesting and novel player to watch
Anyone watch the Kasper Schmeichel documentary on ITV4 yesterday?
Great TV
No but I’ll catch up with this.
He had a spell where he was a right handful. Injuries, again, took their toll?
