I think we can safely say the return of Elneny to our TV’s is the lockdown news we have been yearning for.

There are old scores to be settled as Norwich meet Southampton in a game being described as, on this weekend.
Then we have Bournemouth v Crystal Palace where the irresistible force of the south coast meet the immovable object of south London to see who will win that match. :grinning:

Was a great keeper.

I preferred him when he became a racing car driver

I wonder how different 86 and 90 would’ve worked out if England didn’t have Peter Shilton in goal.

His mistakes against the argies and Germans proved costly in both. Pretty sure his shootout performance in the latter was terrible as well.

I’m from a latter generation but cant help but think we should’ve beaten Argentina in 86 (perhaps not west germany in '90). Really feel the hand of god goal robbed us :frowning:

He should get more criticism for the free kick. It’s a tip over the bar save off a deflection. Not hard.

Messi… Robben and Adriano

Messi, Carlos and reluctantly (because he irritates me) Robben.

Messi, Robben and David Silva for me. Easy.

Adriano shouldn’t be described as a great player, his name is greater than his accomplishments for sure.

Messi, Raul, Robben. I loved Raul back in the day.

Messi, RvP, Robben.

Feels wrong to leave Silva out though

Where’s Ozil? Silva is there so…

I’ll take Robben RVP and Bale

(It’s boring with Messi there because he’s the obvious choice)

You’re not wrong

I’ve heard a couple of nineties footballers/commentators on the Quickly Kevin podcast openly laugh at Shilton for his penalty saving abilities, actually saying that his technique was to wait to see which way the ball was going before diving that way :joy:

73 world cup Qualifier at Wembley. Check it out. Hunter took the blame and deserve some but he fucks up completely.
