Guy is 35 years old and still obsessed. :open_mouth:

He’s one of those guys where I’m curious as to what he’s gonna do with his life once he retires, cos there is going to be this massive hole that needs filling when he’s no longer training like a beast for match day. He seems like he lives for football, rather than being someone who plays football for a living. He’s 35 and could easily kick back, earn his money and know that no drop in performance, however drastic, could ever tarnish his legacy as one of the very best players of all time. But he’s still out there working as hard as ever, and harder than most others seemingly. Can’t stand the bloke but his mentality is just astonishing.

Coaching is near enough the same thing without the playing. He’d probably just do that

I don’t think it is really, its a totally different job to being a footballer.

Many top players don’t go into management, I’m not sure it’s necessarily obvious that he’s gonna do that. Maybe he will though, as I say, I’m interested to see what he does.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he plays well into his 40’s

Id of thought itd be more like Beckham. Maintaining the image by being used by FIFA at awards and tournament presentations. Maybe a bit of a UN celebrity face. Probably invited to be a face in the crowd at all top sporting occasions.

Reckon he is gonna try to follow the path of The Rock. Completely different domain but the guy just can’t sit on his arse.

He’s definitely gunning for one last hurrah in WC 2022. His body has to give out at some point though.

I’d love to see him push the limits and play until he’s like 45.

I was always in the “Messi-camp” but the day this guy retires will be a very very sad day for football.

The best athlete the sport has ever seen.

Has he ever even shaved in his life.

All speculation of course but I would imagine he would be a terrible coach.

I’ve always assumed he’d be like a Jordan or a Beckham. Keeping up those endorsements and business interests. While I think Messi is a better player I think Ronaldo is probably the bigger brand / celebrity.

This is why Ronaldo is where he is. Tremendous worth ethic.

He could easily play for another 5 years I reckon. Once he retires he won’t stop training and still be involved in football. Kind of like how Arnie is 70 odd and still beasts the gym lol.
