He’s been here since the very start of this project. We got him for like 5m from Brazil’s 4th division and is now one of our best players and overall best wingers in the world.
That’s some prime Wenger stuff.
Nevermind Emirates era, he’s one of our best signings ever.
I love Partey, WHEN he is fit and in full flight, one of the best footballers we had in the club at the Emirates.
But that was a big “when”… He ony had one season (MAYBE two), where he could make a proper impact on the team on some consistent basis. And even in that season (the last one and maybe the one before that) he had injuries and we suffered a lot when he was out.
That’s just nowhere near enough output to put him so high.
At least 10 players easily should be above him (besides those who already are).
I can at least understand the order a bit better, not that I agree with it.
One issue with making the list now is that we have a few young players in the team atm who could all end up on top of that list easily…
Odegaard, Saliba, Martinelli etc But you can’t predict how their careers will continue to develop.
Look how shit we used to be. The lack of organisation everywhere. The lack of communication. The lack of accountability. The lack of effort. The turnaround from that, to what we’re seeing now is incredible.
Feels like this was an important mental win in the CL knockouts tonight, a squad full of young players with little experience, feels like we showed to ourselves that we got it when it matters on the biggest stage which is invaluable going forward.
Worth noting the signings we made this summer: we added Rice who scored a pen when we needed it, Havertz who scored a pen when we needed it and Raya who saved two of them, and all three were brilliant throughout the game.
Wow almost forgot how bad we were defensively back then. Wasn’t even like Bayern scored great goals. Was pretty amateur defending from our part for all the goals.
