Seems even paying a third of his wage wouldn’t be value for money taking him on loan next year. Chelsea lumbered with a big portion of his wage for the next two years whatever happens.
Havertz is our top scorer since he arrived here, Luiz was our best CB while he was here, Cech was pretty good for the first few seasons before father time came calling and Welbeck was decent and would’ve done even better had it not been for the injuries.
Sterling is in a whole other category on his own.

Cech on the slide. He was better than what we had before, but what we had before was a position in shambles since 2007.
I know in the late 2000’s we vouched for a veteran GK but that was different circumstances.
Cech had to replaced in 2-3 seasons it was a waste of time.

They do because we were selling world class players like Cesc, Nasri and RVP and replacing them with mediocre players like these.
There’s a very good reason why our rivals sell us their rejects and that’s because they know we are stupid enough to buy them and pay their massive wages.
Havertz would have been fine for around 30m but for Arteta to pay more than twice that for a player who’d been no more than average at Chelsea, that no other club was interested in, just shows how he can’t be trusted to sign any attacking players.
The fact that Havertz is topscorer and Luiz might have been the best centre back in his time here says more about how poor our recruiting has been in certain area’s, rather that it confirm that they are good signing.
All those players mentioned have been wastefull signings.
