I think I found the main problem. The sad thing is, that’s a great cast on paper. Sam Richardson and Glenn Howerton are both really funny. I like Mindy Kaling on The Mindy Project even if it doesn’t hold up in retrospect.

I actually don’t mind a diverse reinterpretation of the characters, the issue is really the writing is pure trash, like really bad. You’ve essentially written a whole show for target audience of dumb bitches who dress up as slutty Velma for Halloween.
We’re to the point now with alot of these shows its becoming an absurd parody how desperate these writers are to inject their faux virtuous woke ideals into media at the expense of good story telling and their utter lack of self awareness in doing so. It’s killing art

The whole thing is basically a cottage industry at this point, trolls put stupid comments under the safety of a fake profile. Then she does a 5 min video making them look stupid and gets 14m views, with a fuck tonne more comments, and the cycle continues.
As for the Velma cartoon, thought it was a pisstake. Ironic how such a discriminatory concept with attacks on white males (Fred in this case) passed the checks. Is that the deal now? Punish/criticise the white guy til everyone feels they got their fair share and everything will be equal after?
That was pretty hacky. You could see someone doing better material with the concept. Trevor Noah does stuff like this (or did, I think he retired from the Daily Show) all the time. Amber Ruffin would do guest spots on Seth Meyers which were along these lines. Maybe she’s just not that funny? Idk. I watched some of her show when it was on and it was pretty bad.
Trevor Noah was hosting it. He’s pretty funny imo. He’s a South African comedian so it’s a lot of “hey your country is fucked up and I’m not American lol” stuff initially. I don’t have time to watch a whole show anymore so for a while I was just catching clips and he’s pretty funny imo. He announced he was stepping down though.
Not sure who they brought in to replace him but I’m fairly confident it won’t be Lily Singh.
