Racism & Sexism (etc) discussion

That’s similar to what politicians say when losing an argument: “You’re either with us or against us.”
It’s a cheap but effective tactic, especially in America, often used with the patriotism card.

People do it across the board of political debate, and not just politicians to be fair.

Yeah because politics is basically a glorified messi/Ronaldo debate these days.

Don’t even know the answer but the whole structure needs a reform imo. Neither of our options (a problem in itself having only two viable ones) in the UK seem to represent the population effectively.

After the recent TicToc videos of women influencers going to the gym and filming men looking at them or being “creepy” this bloke decides to do his own but from a male perspective. :grinning:

I don’t know what it says about the old gits in the older generation of my family or the calibre of politicians these days but when either tackle any sensitive sociological subject I’m already putting my head in my hands by the time they’ve opened their mouths.

My Mum (RIP bless 'er) once opined that if she ever won the lottery she’d move to Spain “to get away from all these foreigners”. It’s worth adding that they lived in a village in Norfolk where the only migrants were the Shetland ponies up the lane.

Torn between this just being boos because it’s City players benefiting from the break and this being something they genuinely oppose.

I feel like if it were Leeds players in the video breaking their fast at Elland Road we wouldn’t have to hear the boos.

Good to see the Zionist Tommy Robinson, ridiculed for how cheap he is to buy, isn’t stopping in his desire to push his anti Muslim agendA lol

Robinson was a nobody again until the Israelis started giving him money.

Anything evil and vile - Israelis usually involved.

I dont really like the booing but I’m not sure it’s racist or Islamophobic to not like the fact that we are actually pausing the game for something some players choose to do.

I have seen bigger delays in throw-ins these days so I don’t particularly care if they take a 2 min break to drink water.

I’m definitely inclined to believe it’s racism when it comes to Leeds fans. They are vile.

Last time I went to an Arsenal Vs Leeds game it was a league cup match and I walked past a pub in Euston full of Leeds fans chanting about Saka being a (racial slur). Also saw the police eject several Leeds fans from the ground that night.

Was it not also Leeds where Rob Holding intervened and got some fans thrown out for shouting racist abuse at some of our lads?

Just have the goalkeeper go down next time instead of putting up an announcement

I remember Rio Ferdinand eating a pack of mini jaffa cakes mid match vs Liverpool back in the day.

But that was pre woke. Probably couldn’t do that anymore cos of health n safety

The reaction to the BAFTAS is genuinely insane. A whole room of the some of the most privleged people on Earth applauding about how they came together to deal with a tic from someone with Tourettes. Not a single comment about the absolute pile on from millions of people online who have abused John Davidson the past week.

I think the way he’s been treated is disgusting and people’s ignorance made me feel sick. Some of the things I read being said about the poor man were unforgivable. I get the criticism towards the BBC for not editing it out but any criticism levelled at a man with Tourette’s is just flat out ignorance.

I remember seeing him on TV back in the day, lovely guy.

A lot of people simply like an easy target to go after. Even better if that person can’t ‘defend’ himself. Even more better if they get to feel like they’re part of ‘solving’ a problem.
