I’ve got a very conveniently timed ‘physio appointment’ in the diary that I forgot to tell work I don’t need this week
Predicted Real Madrid XI: Courtois, Vazquez, Asencio, Rudiger, Garcia, Valverde, Tchouameni, Rodrygo, Bellingham, Vinicius Jr, Mbappe
Just can’t see us conceding 4 goals from that, without reply. I just can’t.
Unless the referee is massively influencing things.
I think winner of this tie will reach final. Can’t see PSG causing much problems for both Arsenal/Madrid over two legs
I am shitting myself
I’m dreading it. I think we can cope with the occasion but I’ve seen the dark arts in Spanish ECL games before and I know some referees have been rather unpredictable in these high pressure fixtures.
We have to score one goal at least. Come on you Gunners.
Think what’s stressing people the most is the embarrassment if we were to bottle this.
Spanish media and even Madrid themselves through the players, coach and their social accounts are acting like the “remontada” is inevitable.
They’re hyping it up as one of the biggest games Madrid have ever played. I’m not even sure if we should be proud or disrespected they’re treating a QF match against Arsenal like this.
I know we’re a strong team mentally but I do fear it might get to our players. Hopefully if it does it has the opposite effect and our players are even more motivated to ruin the party.
We have had our bad performances like any other team but there hasn’t been a big match where we didn’t show up, compete hard, and look mentally resilient since the 4-1 against City in the spring two years ago.
All that said, crazy things can happen in the CL. Frankly, both PSG and Barcelona put in away performances that easily could have seen them bottle big leads yesterday, against much lesser sides than Real Madrid.
Yeah it’s just that the possibility is there in the back of our minds for us to screw it up, I think 99% of us don’t feel it’s going to happen though.
95% confident we go through, but that remaining 5%, man. That’s what keeping me a bit anxious.
am scared like a lil bish.
wasn’t until this morning but am now.
Taking nothing away from Kiwior who was great in the first leg, but this is absolutely a match where I think Gabriel would’ve thrived in.
These type of matches are his bread and butter.
Had he been available I honestly wouldn’t give Madrid much of a chance for a comeback.
It’s been like this all week for me.
if trailing 0-3 and they believe in such shit “remontada”, there is no justice in football at all.
they are not facing Manchester United, they are facing ARSENAL.
we have the best defense in Europe.
Hopefully these four players come through this game without picking up a yellow.
Players one yellow card away from suspension:
- Declan Rice
- Thomas Partey
- Jurrien Timber
- Gabriel Martinelli
Good one
