PSG vs Arsenal - Semi 2nd (CL) 2-1

Further showing xG means fuck all and we should just pretend it doesn’t exist.

Just gutted man. Proper upset to fail once again. This club is just never gonna do it

Donaruma was absolutely on fire, Rice missed a bit of a sitter of a header and Saka missed a gaping open goal.

I don’t rate xG, but not sure today’s the day

Think the 2003-04 season league will the last trophy win we’ll see in most of our lifetimes.

I know what you mean but we have won 5 FA Cups since then.

I know it’s not one of the big ones but I do love an FA Cup win

Cmon—you don’t really believe that, do you?

Love and respect the FA cup, but was talking about the “big” ones: league title and CL.

Be thankful cause some of us didn’t even get to see that, I’m still staring down the barrel of never seeing us win the league. 2006 was a great time to become an Arsenal fan :arteta:

The last trophy that really matters.

Domestic cups are just stat ladders for top clubs and great moments for minnows.

We needed two goals, but we’re all sitting back in our own half. Arteta’s head needs a wobble…Nwaneri is right there on the bench and still hasn’t got on. Try something different??Instead, all he’s doing is moaning at the fourth official.

Credit to Arteta for getting us on the right track, but at this level, he looks out of his depth. Look at Inzaghi last night—living every moment on the touchline, pushing his players forward, making sure they went for the win. That’s the kind of passion and leadership you want. The players and the manager were not good enough tonight - this is the pinnacle of club football and will show you who you really are. Extremely gutted we didn’t go for it.

This is also precisely why the argument about Ten Hag having a “more successful” tenure at United than Arteta has here is pure bollocks, what because they won a league and FA Cup? Wonderful, and now look at where they are in the league. It papers over cracks and if Arteta had won an extra league cup so far would any of the conversations be different today? No.

Ten Hag had a great tenure at United. I for one am a huge fan of his work there.

Nope.

Next 2 years we need a CL or PL to show for this project, a domestic cup or 2 won’t change shit.

If we win nothing of note by 2027, I think we’ll see Arteta, Saka and Saliba move on to win things.

My lack of hurt right now reassures me I came into tonight with absolute zero hope yet alone expectation.

I maintain however a fuelled frustration at how fucking disappointing this season has been. Regardless of what happens in the league I cannot wait for the end of May to forget football exists for a couple months. In that time the club need to do some big things in the window because I can’t knock any Arsenal fan right now for feeling and talking shit about the last 12 months of football.
