this is exactly what i was saying in another thread. These perennial losers always flap their gums about how they are gonna do this, that or the other and you just know they would big themselves up and then go on to crap the bed.

Even with this, don’t you think our style of play needs re-working somehow? I so much preferred the way we played in 22/23.
The main shortcomings there was a personnel issue (e.g. Rob Holding) imho and being unable to play full-throttle for 90-mins.

Do you think Ollie Watkins would have made any significant difference to us these last few months? Yes having a proper striker would have helped to a degree but the idea that signing Ollie Watkins in January would have solved our problems is fanciful imo. I don’t think we suddenly get through this tie simply because we have Ollie Watkins and it certainly wouldn’t have meant we catch Liverpool. We need to go all out this summer for sure but we can do better than him also.

Sure, tweaking some things makes sense.
An excuse, but I’m willing to see what Arteta does with a much healthier squad next season. He had to make do with what was available. Did he maximize what was available? More interesting question. I would have liked to see more Nwaneri.
Now, if this summer is a bust and he doesn’t make some adjustments, I will complain as well.

My issue is not going for Kvara in the summer. We all knew he was worth breaking the bank for, but we kept penny pinching. Ironic we ended up getting sent out by his new January club.
