Premier League star arrested on suspicion of rape

Probably doing the man a favour if they edit out all his long range attempts

I’m assuming this is to do with Jimmy Savile?

I think we just have to accept it will be Thomas partey. In which case weather he is guilty or not, he will not be playing for a while. I honestly think it’s the last we have seen of him in an Arsenal shirt. Just disgusting revolting behaviour. I know as fans we all want it not to be true but just the thought of it makes me sick.
Some reports on Instagram of people saying they can confirm it is him as they spotted him in the holding cell. Could be complete nonsense but just thought I’d put it out there. Very weird energy in the air today.

Not sure suspending a player before they have been charged is the right way to handle - and how exactly do these feminist campaigners even know which club to pressure or do they just speculate and decide to pressure clubs or call up every club and see which one flinches?

I doubt any club would play him anyway. It’s too sensitive and even the player himself if he believed himself innocent won’t be in the right frame of mind.
Also sponsors won’t be happy with it either.

I didn’t notice it until it was pointed out but what the actual fuck is with that red dot. That feels well beyond the realms of any sort of journalistic integrity. This isn’t a fucking transfer deal we are talking about here.

The entire thing is just awful and watching all these pathetic cunts trying to carve out their five minutes of fame off the back of it is honestly just sickening.

If you’re being uncharitable or conspiracy minded you’d say it’s their way of saying it’s an Arsenal player without saying it.

It’s one of those things where everyone knows who it is, and are just waiting for an official charge so they can talk about it.

If I’m not mistaken, with Sigurdsson nothing was ever released or revealed.

Everton after a week or two said a player had been suspended but not once was Siggurdson’s name released officially, so we may never actually have Partey officially confirmed as the suspect. He’ll just never play for Arsenal again and will just be released.

Also I think Gylfi must have been cleared of all charges as he’s signed for Galatasaray.

I was under the impression that Gylfi wasn’t actually charged with a crime. He was arrested under suspicion of child sex offences, and Everton suspended him straight away.

Although I believe there was some Icelandic media who did name him.

Ahh is that what happened? There was basically never an update so I never knew what the update was and I honestly thought he was still going through court proceedings.

I guess he was found not guilty? But the damage to his name and career was done so he could never play in England again.

Same will happen to Partey probably.

Well he wasn’t charged with anything, so there was no legal action at all beyond the original arrest. You can’t be found innocent or guilty if you’re not charged with a crime.

If he had been charged with child sex offences, you can bet it would have been all over the media.

One could argue that Everton overreacted, but I think they were simply taking no chances.

Man that’s so unfair, guy basically had his career in the uk destroyed

Well it might have been one of those cases where it was pretty obvious something dodgy had happened, but there wasn’t enough evidence to charge him with anything.

And Everton didn’t want that stink hanging over the club.

Is it weird to say Sigurdsson’s claims were far worse, at least from an optics perspective?
Don’t want to downplay the potential victims in the current situation here but when children are involved it’s an extremely nasty situation to handle.

But we don’t know the details of either crime, so it’s impossible to say. It just sounds worse.
