I kept thinking it was strange that there was no communication from Partey or Arsenal… maybe they’re trying to resolve this without letting the media know which might actually be good if he is innocent. Simply because it is so common to just deem someone guilty by accusation. Idno. We’ll see I guess.
The only way I could see this being true is the girlfriend was paying her friends to do it, on the basis of her gaining money from the marriage.

Would clearly be better than actual rapes having taken place, but it’s awful either way

This makes it seem like he’ll play unless/until formally charged. He probably isn’t allowed to travel outside the country while on bail.
Big questions then seem to be (a) will he start training with the team when we get back from the US tour and (b) will something about the case change at the next hearing in August.
So “the club” has told The Athletic. Has “the club” told nobody else, then? You’d think it would be all over everywhere by now.

You would think the club did their due diligence to not let this become a PR circus with Partey being arrested as soon as he comes back, perhaps in front of the players too.

Be interesting how the women’s team view this if the club has one.
It’s hard to see a club taking that kind of stance if they weren’t confident there wasn’t evidence against a player.
