Premier League star arrested on suspicion of rape

Nah I understand the club have no chance here because the risk of playing him is huge.

There’s no way they actually will play him but my personal opinion is that he should be able to and until charged (I.e credible evidence to make a case) he shouldn’t be deemed guilty by the public/sponsors/club etc.

Media (and potentially police) really fucked up here as well releasing so many details to make it so obvious.

Maybe not, but I basically always tell my clients that it never hurts to air on the side of caution. (That’s why they always roll their eyes when I use the “raise hand” function in our meetings. I am a total buzzkill.)

Definitely couldn’t practise again in my vocation even if it got to the stage where Partey is at now.

I absolutely wouldn’t do it, or recommend the club do it, but what I mean is the club wouldn’t get in trouble for doing so.

Although financially it would be a mess, with sponsors dropping left, right and center.

Maybe not legal problems, but look what happened when Moyes selected Zouma. The outrage from peoples feelings would be too much to handle (and rightly so). On the other hand there could also be legal issues for the club to handle, against sponsors who drop out. Which wouldn’t look good on Arsenal as a club. I very much doubt that would happen though because I would be very surprised if he is played.

At this rate I will be very surprised if we ever see Partey in an Arsenal kit again

Arent they allowed to wear football jerseys in prisons?

Only Juventus ones

I’ve basically written the guy off already because cases against footballers tend to go one way only.

I suppose there is a very small chance that there is more to the situation, but when 2 people come out and accuse the same person then it starts to look pretty bleak for the accused.

At this point, does the accused person receive any details of who is accusing him? Presumably he’s been told what he’s been arrested for and his defence team are going to comb through all the details. I also assume the club is being appraised of how the situation is developing - they’ll probably be the second to know what is going on.

Until this thing is seen through to its conclusion (whatever that might be), he obviously shouldn’t be involved at all. Need to ensure there is appropriate distance between the club and the player whilst this is ongoing

I personally completely moved on.
Won’t ruin my excitement for Arsenal next season.
If he’s guilty he can fuck off for all I care.

and he will be trust me, not only from AFC but from society and rightly so because it is abhorrent.

I will withhold judgement until I see some incontrovertible evidence of guilt.

I am not a fan of this new nonsense of guilty until proven innocent. The guy, whoever he is could actually be completely innocent of all charges.

yes, i mean if found guilty i dont mean we should just get rid but unfortunately when there are a lot of accusations it could very well be there is an issue. We dont even know for 100% it is him yet, even if it does look highly likely.

Even if he’s found not guilty, the damage will have been done unfortunately.

This stuff sticks to your name forever, and we probably have sponsors who wouldn’t want him playing for us despite not getting convicted.

Pretty sure he’s got a good handle on the ppl he’s raped, at least you’d hope so and the pool isn’t a lot bigger than one or two women.:thinking:

So you’ve decided he’s guilty then have you?

But yes he will have been told who has accused him.
