Jesus’ biggest problem is that he does all the hard work, and then rushes at the most important part.
If his finishing was any good, he’d be one of our best players and dare I say potential candidate for the world class bracket.

Most of these great goalscorers people reference played in a 4-4-2 era which was rather different and could accommodate a variety of strikers. Most of the supposed decline people see in football and its enjoyment can be traced back to the prevalance of 3 man midfields, front 3’s and 5 at the back. System based football essentially.
Some teams like Aston Villa have at times switched to 4-4-2 to allow the likes of Watkins more space through the middle and reduce their creative burden
If Michael Owen came through now despite his legendary finishing ability and pace, he’d end up having to try his hand as a wide forward many times. Someone of his frame and style would need to be as exceptional as him to get a chance as a lone striker against 2/3 CB’s without any ability to hold up the ball. Probably would need a brilliant creative number 10/8 behind him as well.
Bergkamp would have been a false 9 in this era with rapid wide forwards around him.
