Jesus is also ‘statistically’ the worst striker in the league, so I’ll begrudgingly go with Nunez.

Not sure I agree actually, that type of player definitely existed historically. Style =/= Quality. For whatever reason we getting a lot of forwards that can’t finish worth a damn. It was sort of expected no matter what kind of forward you were you could put the ball in the back of the net.
I think we’re finding out it’s more talent than training.
I don’t understand how all these kids grew up watching Ronaldo, Messi, Henry etc and have turned out to be utter crap…

He is / was a great goal scorer but isn’t he more of a right winger than an out and out striker like Van Nistelrooy for example

I think its a sign of the tactical evolution of the game, as a lot of sides now have wide players as their main goalscorers, with the central figure facilitating that. I think that is largely a conscious choice and not a reaction to a mysterious dearth of centre forwards.
These things are trends, and at some point this’ll shift and we’ll start to see the re-emergence of top quality centre forwards again IMO.

Out of that list, I don’t understand why Jesus sucks at finishing. He has the necessary technical skills and his Brazilian education/inspiration should have compelled him to work on his striking skills.
