Podcasts & Audiobooks

Will be delving into this one once I’m back from spring break.

Great interview with Paddy Considine on The Blindboy podcast for anyone interested and also listened to a very interesting one with George Monbiot on Adam Buxton. He went into elements of biodiversity etc I’ve never heard anyone talk about before.

I had some credits available on Audible and purchased the 1984 adaptation. Travelling back from Norwich today made this a great listen!

Is that the recent one with Tom Hardy and Andrew Garfield?

Yup. It’s roughly over three hours in all but I’m about half-way through at the moment. I feel like reading the book feels more sinister, but the audible version captures the pointed feeling of the overall story, if that makes sense.

Not sure if it’s due to the Friday, tired, grumpiness kicking in but my gosh, Amy Lawrence is annoying on podcasts.

I listened to the latest Arseblog pod where she was a guest on and she waffles about bollocks. Loads of quiet pauses where even Andrew (Arseblog) asks if she’s “still there”.

I respect that she’s entrenched in Arsenal and has the history and stories to boot but fucking hell, don’t podcast.

She seemed pretty good writing for the Observer 25 odd years ago, but agree, not much in terms of a Podcaster. I listened to the same interview and was thinking she could at the very least buy a decent microphone.

Nah mate, I find her quite annoying too, switched off after 10 mins last night.

I’ve started Big Beacon and it’s a great listen so far.

Coogan has definitely honed this character so much. Everything is perfect.

Fuck, turns out I didn’t pre-order it I guess, cos just checked my audible and it’s asking me to spend one of my credits on it. Completely forgot it existed!
