They have a hard set of fixtures left than us, plus Villa and City are both away games for them. I kept saying we still have hope! Let’s see where we are relative to them after the next 5 fixtures.
We need Emery to have the same game-raising energy he has with us when he faces Liverpool.
Bunch of fucking knobheads
The only thing that will stop Liverpool is injuries. And even then, we have to not fuck up, which going by today’s display against Leicester, will take something special.
For now, we keep them honest for another game. We’ll see how we go next week.
Momentum as well
Have you seen their fixture list?
Even without injuries I’m confident in them dropping 10-13 points.
Question is whether we can drop less than 6.
Just going into a bit more detail, I’d look at these games for Liverpool dropping points:
Villa (A)
City (A)
Newc (H)
Everton (H)
Fulham (A)
Spurs (H) - least likely of the lot
Chelsea (A)
Arsenal (H)
Brighton (A)
Now obv they will get through some of those with maximum points but it’s more than enough games and opportunity for them to drop.
For us:
Forest (A)
United (A)
Chelsea (H)
Ipswich (A) - if they have a chance to stay up.
Fulham (H)
Liverpool (A)
Newcastle (H)
Look the trickiest. Next few games are key if we can get past forest and united while the scousers drop a couple of draws or L’s then the game is on.
We also simply have to go to anfield and win in May.
Had we not been so unlucky I’d back us to give them a run for their money.
Yeah me too, even the 4 robbed points against Brighton and we’re sat level now.
Forget the city game, the havertz goal vs Liverpool and the stupid 2-0 mess up against villa.
I would love to experience the 21st century version of 1989
We have saints on last day if it comes to GD. Scousers have palace.
We could beat them two weeks before then run the goals up to win it.
Agent Ramsdale.
This in theory sounds spectacular but fucking reality will get in the way again the cunt
We need to break that fixture list down and look at the timing of them in more detail IMO. Key to the title race are the remaining games in February and March.
We play:
- February: West Ham (H) on 22nd and Forest (A) on 26th.
- March: Utd (A) on 9th and Chelsea (H) on 16th.
Liverpool play:
- February: Wolves (H) on 16th, Villa (A) on 19th, City (A) on 23rd, and Newcastle (H) on 26th.
- March: Southampton (H) on 8th.
By end of March we will have a game in hand on Liverpool. Our run of games in April are favourable IMO - Fulham (H), Everton (A), Brentford (H), Ipswich (A) and Palace (A). PLUS, there is a big chance that for April, we will have Martinelli AND Saka back.
If Liverpool drop points in their next 4 fixtures and we can navigate our next 4 fixtures in February and March, I think we are in with a real chance.
You’re right but I didn’t want to put too much stock into it til we see the CL draw tbh.
Could make our lives much easier and theirs harder or vice versa. They also have the cup final to worry about.
Be at least fair if Salah got a mild injury that took him out for the rest of the season.
You’re right - CL will have an impact but unclear until the draw is made.
For the PL, if Liverpool can navigate their 4 fixtures in February without dropping points, I think they will have the league. However, if they drop points, I think it is game on. We need big performances from all 4 of those teams!
There’s so many variables between now and may it’s not worth overthinking it for me.
Keep winning and see what happens is all we can do.
Not having a pop at anyone, do whatever ye like
Told y’all we can do just fine without him
